In my other pool there's a few guys that don't have any D. They just use the roster spots on extra forwards and hope the extra points make up for not dressing a full lineup.

I'm usually good at finding young free agent D's on their breakout seasons. Still combing the list looking for this year's guy...

OEL was my guy, but i just traded him in the Malkin deal.

That's a bad strategy IMO, you can't even dress a full lineup for the Saturday(and other busy days) games and you miss out on shot blocks(I'm guessing you don't count them though). This year's guy might be hard to find since we have 5 d-man per roster for a 12 man league and most of us are hockey nuts.

Have to say Leafs look decent this year

Lots of opportunity to make a splash. In a shortened season, one nice stretch of wins could be enough to get them in the playoffs.

As long as we're away from the ACC!

Seriously though, all the guys are playing bigger with more support. Everyone seems to be buying into Randy's system, and we have three good forward lines. Nothing quite like a Sedin-sedin-whoever line, but still, enough to get pucks in the net.

Holzer and Fraser are also providing slightly more reliable defense. There's still some brain farts, but neither one of them will cheat, so they're usually on the right side of the puck.

They are rolling 4 lines now. They have a good mix of skill and toughness. Teams can not just concentrate on Lupul and Kessle.

Bozak Kadri and Frattin are huge for the team.

Agreed. I usually keep 5 D including Byfuglien, who can be a winger, as well.

He was my first D pick—only because Edler was gone. Didn't take another D till near the end.

I was planning to get Karlsson in the second and then waiting, but after I (frank)ed up on that I wanted Buff and ended up with Dion.

Yeah, Bozak has been great, especially in the circle. He ensures that we start with the puck more often than not.

Frattin is great, a heart and soul guy, and his family makes great food (they own an itialian bakery here in Edmonton).

Kadri has just the right mix between skill and piss & vinegar... it's working well so far

Yeah, I'd be wanting to quit if I were Stu, as well, after the ass kicking I'm handing him

What's up with him? Changed his mind?

He still has Gardiner in his lineup and didn't respond to my trade offers so I figured we should let KB in since he's actually a regular here and wanted in.

Plus he loves trading just like me.

Ohh. Yeah, just looked.

Ward's a decent goalie, but playing on CAR, he doesn't put up decent fantasy numbers.
