Schroeder.

Boinker is going to need some new pants after this game.

Ahhh yes, there will be some sticky white love piss clean-up needed in aisle Boink

In fairness though, Schroeder seems a good, skilled kid. Whether he can adapt to being a small guy in the NHL is the main issue.

Pfft, I'd rather not be first right now. It's all about having a hot team down the stretch. Scooby could be in trouble once Vanek cools off, he's a notorious fast starter too.

I'm a pretty good GM, I realized my weakness(D) and turned it into a strength within a couple of days. It cost me Hall and Taranseko, but I just replaced Hall with Kane who is similar, only less PP points and more hits. Kane cost me Duchene and Doan, who I replaced with Landeskog and Pacioretty. So basically I improved my defence significantly without taking much of a hit at forward.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about my D.

I never use high picks on D, because I've always been able to find guys through FA, but pickings are a bit slim right now.

Could be in trouble for goalies if Halak is out for long.

Also, agreed on the size thing. He's a pretty built kid, though, for a short guy, and seems to be overcoming the issue so far. We'll see how the season wears on him.

Yeah, I was worried about his size, but his hockey sense and agility allows him to get open and avoid the big hits plus he plays a two way game. If he keeps it up, I'll be fine with him as third line center.

For sure. As long as he doesn't try and pull a Gionta, then he'll be fine.

Yeah, the D pool is weaker than I thought it would be as well which is why I loaded up on them. I now have Weber, Doughty, Seabrook, Phaneuf, Giordano and Wizniewski.

I like that he's not afraid to go to the high traffic areas, he battles along the boards when he has to and goes to the net and seems to like to hang around the slot. Plus he's always open for a zone outlet pass from the d-man, does a lot of little things well which is probably why AV likes him.

Nah. He's a Canuck—they don't have the marbles to actually drop the gloves.

He may pull a Grabovski, though

I needed a d-man after I accidently drafted Kessel instead of Karlsson in the second.

I also picked up Lupul from waivers and have him on IR.

And Scooby has Reimer.

Good goalie pick. 2.30 GAA, 0.929 SV%. Not bad

In my other pool there's a few guys that don't have any D. They just use the roster spots on extra forwards and hope the extra points make up for not dressing a full lineup.

I'm usually good at finding young free agent D's on their breakout seasons. Still combing the list looking for this year's guy...

OEL was my guy, but i just traded him in the Malkin deal.

Yup. We haven't had many days like this for a while. Putting a beat down (both literally and figuratively) on your oldest rival is always good

Yeah. I watched a lot of Wolves games during the lockout, so I did see glimpses of what Schroeder and Kassian could do, but it's a nice surprise that they seem to be keeping it up in the NHL so far.

Tanev's the least surprising of the lot. He was a surprise at first, but we've been getting accustomed to his reliable play almost from game one. Great find by Gillis.

A few nice surprised for the Leafs, too, with Frattin, Kadri, and Reimer. That Kostka guy seems like he could be a good player, as well, although I haven't seen him much.

Hopefully Gardiner can get/stay healthy and help out soon

And Schroeder with another. Nice.
