I actually liked this team from the start this season only two games that they were not in.. at all.. the compete has been there even when they play poorly they hang in there.

Still have lots of work to do.. but if they compete every game and don't make the playoffs.. but show some fight along the way.. I will be happy.

oh plenty of work to do yet.

37 shots against for example.. i doubt carlyle was too pleased with that stat.

Man, I love that play one the MacLaren fight

Orr runs a guy, throws another one down, and 1 hit KOs Bourque.

(frank)ing truculence

And lots of restraint by MacClaren, not destroying Gorges there. If he had gone all out, that woulda been ugly, and Gorges knew it. You can see it on his face after.

But how many of them were quality?

Lots of shots the goalie can see and are from far out aren't a problem. So long as the defenders take away the lanes and make sure they're not screening the goalie, # of shots doesn't matter.

Better than holding the other team to 20 shots, where 10 of them are screened all the way through, and the other 10 are from 5 feet out.

true, but if guys get overzealous blocking shots, they may go back to the Wilson style shotblock, that ends up in the back of the net more often than not

Next loss? Cripes I'd go as far to say the next bad shift that leads to a goal. "And there it is. Back to normal in Leaf land. Reimer sucks"

I kind of liked that bullpoop about them being teammates on the Sharks so they were just friends...which is great because Gorges was on the team while McLaren was in the minors the one year they were both San Jose property.

Come on now. By tonight the win will be forgotten and the trolling by UG will re-commence.

Agree they had that bad spell in the second where they were giving up way too many shots and had trouble making the simple plays out of their zone.. let to 20 shots that period.. the other two periods they were good tho.

yup, and i am sure carlyle will bring it up in practice.

regardless of outcome.. giving up close to 40 shots is not a trend you want to start.

keep working, keep getting better.

The whole crew ...Milbury and Keith Jones said no suspension. They rightly questioned wtf Paccioretty was trying to do to Grabo's head. Why had Patches dropped his gloves?

The classic face wash is a 'glove on' procedure.
