Going into this season, it was a near consensus that the Leafs need a number one centre and a goalie. However, what if they already have those players?

Can anyone who watched Bozak play this year honestly say that Getzlaf would be that much of an upgrade? Bozak may be the most underrated hockey player in the entire world.

James Riemer is awesome.

Getzlaf would be an upgrade in some areas. Things like going into the corners, using size, defending team mates (not the Kessel style), a wicked slap shot, and having the knowledge to lead a team. But Bozak is better at other things, I think. Things like vision, on the draw, team chemistry, speed. Hell, his wrist shot may even be better.

That being said, Bozak will never get the recognition he deserves for 3 reasons: People in Toronto and many circles feel that the only good 1C is a big 1C. Second, he isn't a name that people around the league know. And finally, he came from college. That last one will just about do it.

Dude you still going on about this.. GSP is not a good comparison and I listed why.. extensively.. GSP would not be a good NHL fighter.. he is not a KO artist.. he is too light... all his strengths are in areas that are illegal in the NHL.. and he doesn't take punches too well from 170 lb guys let alone 240 lbers.. you are wrong.. just stop it all ready.

From Cox's Twitter

"Prust desperately looking for someone he can handle. Having no luck."

"Will Habs go after any North American Leafs or just the Euros?"

"So Leafs are mocked endlessly for not being "truculent.." And now they're too mean?"

Getzlaf is an upgrade over Bozak in pretty much every respect. The only aspect of game where you could give Bozak the edge is in compete level. Getz has been known to take nights off.

Don't get me wrong on Bozak, I love the guy. He shows some flashes of offensive skill, he plays hard, he's good defensively, and he's a face-off wizard. The only problem is, the skill plays come in flashes, they're not very consistent, and he doesn't have the strength to back up his physical play.

If he was stronger, and more consistent with the displays of skill, he would be a good option at the 1C spot, but he's best suited in the shutdown role, IMO.

Getzlaf on the other hand is a physical beast. He's just as good at faceoffs, and you can rely on him for way more regular offense than Bozak.

While you don't have to be big to be a center, the size helps a lot in making room for your linemates, something Kessel could use.

Yeah. Though there's not really much more to be expected from him. I really can't stand his snivelling whiny sounding voice when he gets on tv.

Grabo has his mouth open.

Patches puts his arm in grabo's mouth and squeezes.

Pates feels the effect of squeezing your arm over something sharp.

Grabo is a biter.

Well, just having size isn't enough. Getzlaf is actually willing to use it though.

Maybe he could teach JVR and Colbourne a thing or two about that.
