Well, you're entitled to your opinion. It's true, he actually had quite a few years that he was pretty damn good in his own zone. - prock
I liked Kaberle, probably one of the best passers between 2000 to 2010 for dmen. |

The refs are beyond morons, surprised carlyle hasnt spoken out yet against them like the raptors coach did Notice how with the raptors the refs calmed down on the calls after that outburst? - Mapleleafs_91
Carlyle has more class than that.
And bad calls to both ways, the leafs have been on the favorable side of some iffy calls as well. People tend to overlook that part. |

Im not sure if its envy and much as their shock and anger that the Toronto fan base didnt want Luongo on their team. - systemtool
Ek can take some of the blame for that one. He continually kept saying that Luongo was coming here and the Nuck fans were trying to help it along. During the lockout, it was good for hits, when there were very few people here, but now, it's gone completely into the stratosphere. I think the Nucks envy, has to do with the Leafs always being the National game, on CBC, on Saturday nights. It really must piss them off, when the Leafs play in Vancouver and there's 8 thousand Leafs fans, in the building. It used to be, that Habs fans where the most obnoxious, with their history and such, but they've won something where the Nucks keep it up, while never seeing the Cup being hoisted by their team. It's too bad......they've alienated lots of fans from other teams fanbase from cheering for them as a secondary team, during the playoffs.

Would you have expected to see stats showing him as such a fixture on the PK in those early years? His later years seem to have wiped that from everyone's memory. |

Just the way I see it, I try to always put, IMO in there, because I never want my opinion taken as fact, just like I think, IMO, that Price is top 5 in the league, others don't agree, which is their opinion. |

It will be another close game between these two teams. I think Montreal might take this one, but Toronto as everyone knows is playing really well on the road, and have played a road style of game mostly all year, so that should make it close. Price might be the difference in the end, i'll say a 3-2 loss, but would be nice to win 3 in a row. |

The player follows the system set by the coach. Carlyle would never allow Phaneuf to constantly play out of position. Carlyle is a big time systems guy and Phaneuf is his captain. If Phaneuf doesn't listen then why would the other players?
Carlyle is the one making the call on positioning - Dozzer
Just to come back to what we were discussing yesterday regarding Phaneuf: if a cup winning coach and former Norris trophy defender (from an era that featured Lafleur, Gretzky, Dionne, etc.) gives you 28 minutes per night against top lines, that's a pretty clear statement of confidence. |

Pretty sure he did that to ron wilson and wilson was a moron(excuse my language). Yes the player follows the system but he tends to prefer that side and im pretty sure he tells carlyle that and carlyle plays him where he is most comfortable. This is with a new coach now so its different, hopefully carlyle comes to terms with what is appropriate for the player rather than what dion prefers or is comfortable with. |

I can see that, in the team this year. Last year, and before, Wilson would lose it on the refs and the players piled on. They came off as whinners. Under Carlyle, there's very little of that activity. Just as well, because I think it influences the refs, whenever there's a borderline call.

Saying a player is bad based on what his jersey looks like is just foolish.
I bet all the price haters will be cheering him on franticly once he dons the maple leaf for team Canada. |

Dion has been switched to the opposite side this year.

Not sure i'd put Price top 5 just yet, but he is awesome. Toronto could only hope to have a goalie like him within the next 10 years. |

Yeah lucky it evened out that game Too many bad calls regarding this new puck rule with players hand or goalie interference when their own teammate pushes them into the goalie. These calls are brutal, ruins the game play and could be a game changer for the team to lose |
