what Canada seems to over look repeatedly, and its particularly apparent in the world junior selections... is where the games are going to be played.

clearly - and it must be clear to all the "hockey minds" involved you don't select the same time and same individuals to play in Red Deer(NHL sized ice) or Buffalo(NHL sized ice) versus Malmo or Moscow(Olypmic sized ice).

Same goes for the Olympics - or it should. Getzlaf is comparatively too poor a skater for the Olympic ice, as one example. Because these tournaments are short you don't have the luxury of time to "adjust".

In Vancouver, NHL ice, NHL players - no adjustment period needed.
