If I were Carlyle, I would tell McLaren, "Look, I realize you didn't want to kill Gorges, but next time, feel free to fire away." - Leeman4Gilmour
Gorges pouting after the game was hilarious though. I don't think he'll get a post game presser if he's on a stretcher. |

Just goes to show how inept Wilson was, last year. We actually have a professional coach that actually knows what to do. Carlyle actually looks like he's enjoying his time in Toronto. He actually jokes around with the press, something that Wilson never did. |

If Orr gets suspended for anything it will be for his run at Plekanic. I don't think it was dirty but you never know, they might try to call it a knee on knee. - Jeffmt
That would be such bullpoop, but wouldn't surprise me |

So far i love the new coach... He holds players accountable and makes them buy into his system. The defensive play is much improved and he's not worried about giving young guys playing time. |

I think he just keeps Orr, Brown, and McLaren by the back door.

Man, I think I'd exchange being on the end of a 6-0 from the Habs if I could get to see Orr one-punch Simmons... |

It would probably only take about an eighth of a punch. |

Just saw this now and it's a good read.
I've always liked Orr but I've got a whole new respect for him now. And Eakins could be a sports psychologist if he wanted to be. I know he really wanted the head coach job when Wilson go canned but he's such a huge asset where he is. I bet Wilson never spoke a word to Orr. It's no wonder a guy like him could get his head all messed up under that system. |

In fairness, could Orr and Gionta ever "fight" in any meaningful sense of the word? |

Oh, I'm sure that Simmons, Daimen Cox and Bob MacCowan will be on the gotta ban fighting bandwagon, after all of this. Surely, fighting doesn't sell now, does it? By what you read and hear after this game, the Leafs Nation finally feel that they have a team that other teams will no longer laugh at. For the last 7 year, the Leafs fans have had to endure the slings and arrows from our rivals and having to hide their affiliation of being a Leafs fan. For once, we can take out our licensed Leafs merchandise and wear it with pride. I was starting to wonder when I was going to be able to do that again. |

If you're still going to enter a situation, do something meaningful. Don't just tell Orr you're available for a punch. |

Fighting sells. I went to the wingsvsflames last week, the loudest the building got was during Tootoos fight, and by loud i mean deafening. People love it. |

If nothing else, as Cherry said, this isn't a team that you'll walk all over anymore.

They definitely don't have the depth that Canada has but their top end is at least as good as any other country. If Lundqvist has a good tournament they're likely playing for gold. |
