yeah that guy was awesome. I like that Danny Markov as well. The Pat Quinn/Sundin Leaf teams were really good teams, they had a bunch of good guys. Mogilny was still amazing as a Leaf...in fact he's the last Maple Leaf to have touched the puck in a playoff game

I used to eat lunch at a bar near Bay and Bloor.

Mironov was a regular there - and I don't mean that in a good way.

They had stories.

That's so funny you mention his name.

The other day, I was playing some NHLPA '93 on Super NES. My goal is usually to win the cup with the worst teams, just for a challenge. The Leafs are too easy because Glenn Anderson is ridiculously fast.

Well, the worst team is Ottawa. They have players on their team who are literally a 4 overall (out of 100). Their goalie is Sidorkiewicz and they don't have a back-up. It's sad.

Anyway, I scored a goal with him. The other team took a shot, got the rebound, and through a strange series of events, got hemmed in their own end where they accidentally bumped into their own goalie and put the puck in their own net. Sidorkiewicz was the last player of mine to touch the puck.

In case you chuckleheads missed it, they postponed the Bruins-Lightning game today (as I boldly predicted yesterday).

Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but in such a condensed season, it's going to make the re-scheduled game tough on both team's travel - especially Tampa Bay.

Not much, but hey, it could be what vaults the Leafs from 12th to 11th.

Danny Markov seemed to meet the legal requirement for insanity.

I hate to admit it, but the cheezy one they use in the playoffs by Bryan Adams is perfect, due to that one line:

"The chance may never come again."

Man, I'll bet that just haunts a few retired players who watch the opening sequence.

CBC does a great job with the opening song.. I got goosebumps when they did Adele's "set fire to the rain" last year in the final.. My personal fav.

Speaking of one point making a difference, that reminds me of the last legitimately meaningful moment in Leafs history:

Watching Wade (frank)ing Dubliewicz steal a game for the Islanders against New Jersey on a Sunday afternoon. The single point they got for getting to OT was enough to tie us for 8th (we had the tiebreaker). The extra point for winning the shoot out eliminated us.
