Streit at 35 is still the best offensive DMan on both teams, Okposo is a solid top 6 forward ( former 10 ten pick) for Yak who may be a 30 goal man. Doesnt seem that far off. This deal may sound better Bailey,Okposo and Streit for Parvaji, Yak.

He is still 35 and does not fit into the oilers plans.. and justin schultz at 22 is already better then streit. Oilers have no need for a pure offensive dman either.. yak as a rookie is on a 40 goal pace playing less then 15 minutes a night. So saying that yak may be a 30 goal scorer is not doing him justice. He has the potential to be the 2nd best scorer in the league after steven stamkos.

Yakupov is not being traded anyways so it doesn't matter.

Isles would not do it if its just a first rounder, if the oilers added a decent defender like a peckham, teubeurt, plante, a defender that they dont even use, and before oiler fans go nuts, you guys dont even use teubeurt and thats a joke straight up. You guys obtain a good prospect and dont use him yet complain you have no D. Teubert is decent.

Clueless of what, you guys have klefbom that your worship, marancin whos doing pretty well, yet complain you need more D yet your team is practically made up of youngsters. Teubert is a waste, dont know why you guys got him then, and a 3rd pair at best is still decent. Im just saying alot of oilers fan complain, yet they have and talk so highly of so many defenders that the team does not use, when the team is practically made up of youngsters now since most are playing

There is a difference between having nhl ready defenceman who are good and good defensive prospects. Not many 20 yo dmen play in the nhl.. you have to do this thing called develop your prospects, which to spell it out for you is what we are currently doing..

Leafs fans are by far the least well educated in the league

I think you quoted the wrong comment...but that wouldn't work. Isles would be below the cap floor, and a ufa and a struggling player is not worth a 1st. maybe a 4th and a contract.

Now...Streit, Okposo, and a 1st for Yak would work. For the Isles

I wouldn't trade yak for those three pieces. I don't care for streit bc being a ufa 35 years old. Okposo...young and can probably pull it together to be a top 6, but not top 3 since Eberle is top rw years to come for edm. 1st overall nyi...not gonna be much of an impact for edm anytime considering where nyi is in the standings. I'd wait to see yak develop and edm obtain more in a trade.

musil in juniors, klefboms injured and still in sweden (where he wanted to be till the end of this year anyway), and marincins a rook in the AHL. hes doin ok, but needs time. gernats still in the juniors.

i just dont understand ur point. marincins the only one that could even if we so chose.

oiler fans want someone established so we can be better now..cause those kids just arent available yet.

The Oilers have to move one of their 5 in the next two yrs to make a run at the cup and be cap compliant once the RFA's start. My choice to move would be Hall, and I wouldn't do it this season anyways.

Once you sign a #1 goalie, there will be no way to fit the G and the 5 in the cap once RFA's start. I don't see it.

You guys have too many scattered D everywhere. You guys have quantity over quality. And give me a break, if you had rielly, hed be starting on the first pairing with schultz. Just saying your team is practically made of young guns and guys like potter, sutton, peckham, whitney should not remain much longer with you guys or i doubt youd resign them. Alot of veteran d-men this summer despite their age, some are cup winners, you could look at signed for a year or 2 max. I dont hate the oilers, i actually encourage seeing the young guns play because i see edmonton as a place that lets these players play which i wish the leafs would do and they are now starting to do it since they got rid of all these old (frank)s! By making frattin and kadri play, they are the leafs best players at the moment
