what's wrong with Streit these days? He was crazy good in Mtl, what happened?
- shmenge

i haven seen him this year, but as far as his time in nyi, but other than that hes getting on abit (only 35-could play top notch for awhile yet)
the short answer would be NOTHING. hes never been a defensive stalwart.
hes had a 56 point season a 49 and a 47. extremely solid.

this guy has been a good player for a long time. maybe u just havent heard as much cause the island aint exactly a media darling.

He is good at getting points but defensively he is a liability.

...and we need three of them. I don't care what Edmonton needs. Nino and Okposo and Streit is too much for one player, unless it's Shea Weber. Just MHO.

I don't see Garth snow making any big giant offer for yakupov. Snow is as conservative as tamby. Someone said nino, okposo, streit and pick for yakupov? I mean I like yakupov and think he's gonna be a star, but it's only his first season in the NHL.

Okposo and Streit need a change in scenery neither will be missed. As for Nino who knows what he will end up being. I think the trade is worth it for Yak a future superstar.

These two making a deal and with each other is big news. I have no problem with giving up Streit and Okposo. Nino has some promise. I love the idea of adding Yakupov though if true.

yeah...huge gamble for the oil.

the oil need another quality guy on the backend. (regardless of streits deficiencies, potter is not an nhl caliber guy and whitney injuries have killed any foot speed he once had)

okposo and nino both have size. something we're sorely lacking. but have been less than GREAT thus far.
while yaks is gonna be a true sniper.

but i do think we're a better team if one the two forwards turns into a power guy. even one that doesnt produce as much as yaks, but brings afew other things.

tough call

i just realized ive been sucked into eks web of deceit just cause he mentioned my team!! after all my sh1t talk. ive been had

maybe some plug for a 5th

Deal for me will be pending on the pick being offered along with the three. Streit is ufa end of season. So it's okposo, nino, and pick that counts. I don't think it's only yakupov bc of salary floor concerns for nyi.

You have to be kidding me Okposo, Nino and Streit for Yak. Come on. What about Okposo and Streit for Yak. Nino needs to stay and be given an opportinity to be a top 6 forward.

Hot News Update:

Dream on people, Yakupov is going nowhere!!!!!!!

Why in the world would the OIl even consider trading him, for Tavares maybe.

okposo might already be considered a a bust. hes got a decent contract dollar wise, but is signed for anothr 3,4 years.meh.
nino has been decent in the A this year, but other than that, he hasnt been great thus far at either level.
and streits a ufa at the end if this year. and 35.

we could end up with nothing for yaks. or could end up a much better team goin forward

Neither of these teams, if they make a trade, will be trading Dman. It'll be forwards for forwards.

thats the thing. there is ZERO chance of the oil wanting ur deal.
okposo has done nothing thus far in his career minus a few brief stretches of decent play and streit could walk at the end of the year.

yaks just went first, and has been playing pretty damn good in his first 10 games.

the oil dont even consider it without nino. (who also might be a bust!!)

It will probably end up being Streit for a second overall. Typical Snow trade
