This is actually the REAL problem with this idea- the Islanders and Oilers have the same kind of players.....talented young forwards, who may or may not end up being something (and I know, this post appears lopsided, because Okposo appears to be worthless at this point, but he is a streaky player). What we BOTH need are big, strong, quality defensive defensemen. Edmonton fans think Streit is a good idea, because of his offense, but he's useless in his end of the ice too, which doesn't do you any more good than he is currently doing for us. I think the point is, there is NO reason for us to make a trade with Edmonton, unless we're moving Streit for a middling pick, and I'd rather wait for a contender to overpay for him at the deadline than do that.

THe only person that ever gave your leafs a tangible plan just got fired. Ownership is HAPPY with the Leafs, which means you won't see any winning seasons anytime soon. Just keeeeeeeep paying. And yes, your mediocre team beat our sh1te team three years in a row (Still at the bottom of the league as well though weren't you?). THe thing is, EDM is improving and TOR is, well, the same.
