Him and Regier should've been gone a long time ago.
- Cptmjl

Regier had to work with some limitations too before Pegula came in. I think he does a pretty good job there. Buffalo isn't like LA, Manhattan, or some of the other major cities that are player magnets. Personally, I like it there, but we of all people I guess should appreciate being a team and a market that's a bit of a tougher sell than some other locations. Still, the Sabres manage to put a competitive team together most seasons despite that. Don't always make the playoffs, but they're usually right there until the end. I think Regier has had some real solid drafts too. Good chunk of that team is homegrown, and they always seem to have more players on the way. Lindy I think has worn out his welcome. Good coach, but I think that roster this season and last is better than how it has played. Sorry for going on about the Sabres, but I follow them relatively closely.

Nope but I think KO and Streit are involved.

Trade them to Toronto for Franson and Bozak...but I'm sure Garth only wants picks...

Fla seemed to have a tougher grind it out team. The thing is UIF this team has not shown the mental or pysical toughness. They pretty much went into a fe tal position against the Rangers. I have a real hard time seeing this team making it as currently constructed and this includes the coaching as well. This team only shows small flashes and then panics. This team seems to need guys like Haley, Martin, and Gillies running around like crazy to feel secure.

I have I think it's way over the top to say the team lacks mental toughness just because they showed up flat against the Rangers. If anything, they've shown more heart so far this year than I've seen in a while. I can't disagree with the physical toughness though... This MUST be fixed

The mental toughness has been a problem for a couple of years as evidence of the team not ready to play at the start of many games.

I don't attribute slow starts to a lack of mental toughness. It may be a lack of focus in that case, which the coach can be blamed for, but I'd judge their mental toughness based on their resilence to bounce back when things go wrong or get tense. So far this season, I think the Isles have done that much better than in the last few years.

I have quite a few friends that follow them too. All of them want them both gone. I'd agree, they've had enough time to work with.

mental toughness and being ready to play can be one in the same i do agree with you as far as them bouncing back but that seems short lived? We'll see. Huge trade coming with Edmonton

So Ek posts an e4 that the Isles are working on a major trade with Edmonton that will "be a major domino of sorts and shift the balance."

Since it's Ek, my instant reaction is to chuckle and move on but with the Thomas acquisition, you have to at least take pause. Maybe that's what made it so easy for Ek to make the 'rumor'. Okposo is likely out today with an undisclosed 'illness'. I wonder if he and perhaps Streit could be packing soon.

Well, lets put it this way. If a guy has a fight and takes the first three punches but manages to win the fight. Did he lack mental toughness? I'd say he had that toughness because he didn't just run the other way after things started poorly.

The Edmonton rumor.....Ladies and gentlemen, your newest Islander..>TAYLOR HALL!

Hypothetically of course because we are talking about Ek number one and the Islanders number two but what can possibly be coming the other way? PaJaarvi? Picks? What would Edmonton give up? I won't even mention the names thatmatter we both know that's a waste of time and they aren't giving up anything on defense worth while because thats what they need. Sending Okposo and Streit to Edmonton for more picks is a joke. Enough already. There is something mentally wrong with Snow if that's what it is?

Meh, apples and oranges. Whatever. Taylor Hall, that's a good one . The only thing Edmonton could possibly offer us would be picks and if that's the case then it's pretty ridiculous.

I agree no picks. PaJaarvi would worry me. He seems another player afraid of contact. Isles have enough of them. I can see the Oilers trading Hemsky I'm not crazy about him either.

Yep, surprised he didn't pop into my head? This is going to be beaut of a trade if it happens. The oilers minus their guys that we know they aren't giving up are pretty thin. Hemsky, Pajaarvi and picks are all that they would give up none of which is a clear help for this team.

I'm not sure how Ek sees this as a shift the balances move unless JT and Yak are involved.

I think the only Oiler I'd want (outside of the obvious) is Ladislav Smid.

These teams do not seem to be a fit which means the trade will happen. All I know is it's stop the presses time when these two GM's make a deal. Even a small one.

It really doesn't make any sense. I could see an Okposo for Pajaarvi change of scenery trade, but the Islander better be getting something else in that deal. I'm not sure why Edmonton would want Streit, unless they're looking for someone to mentor Schultz.

I think I'd add Horcoff to the list with Smid. I'd be pretty ecstatic if Snow landed Smid.

I would want very little part of Streit at this point if I'm the Oilers. I think Streit needs a strong defensive team around him and especially a very strong d man partner. I though Minn was mentioned as a team looking at KO as well. I'm not sure who they would give up. I'd love to get Smid but doubt he would be available.
