And while he may not be huge, I like that kid Ryan White on Montreal, who can skate, he has some skill, isn't afraid to get his nose dirty and can drop em if needed. The other young guy I like is Marcus Foligno on Buffalo. Not sure of the cost or if Montreal or Buffalo would even consider trading them but these are the types of guys the Hawks could realistically aquire as opposed to the stars who are more well known but who have higher cap hits and potentially more impact to the current team chemistry. - paulr
White's a tough kid...but he had a brainfart the other night vs Buf and i believe his penalty cost them the game.

Yep, bad double minor for jumping Ott. Gotta make sure the other guy drops them too. |

Thanks for the specs...Ott's a master at suckering guys into roughing/instigator calls.

Were you meaning this for the two power forwards or re-signing Bickell? If Stan does go and get some thunder up front, what sort of forward are you thinking? A top 6 guy or a bottom 6 player? I guess it depends on if its a center or wing, but who in the current lineup do you see as the likely odd man/men out, or would you think a current forward would go to Team X in acquiring a power forward. - PhatJoeSki
Depends on a lot of things and likely some current member of the roster would go the other way |

I'm heading to Saskatchewan for a vacay at the beginning of March...never thought i'd ever say or write that...but it's true. I'm going to see McNeill at least twice in PA...and I'll have a much better opinion of him after those games.
I'm a big fan of the kid and think he could be a Troy Murray type down the line. - philco28
I used to work with this guy from Saskatchewan (in Montreal) who I liked to tell was the only guy EVER from Saskatchewan. |

Need a decent carrot to acquire him...but he and White are two solid role guys. Always liked Aaron Asham...and then there's Chicago native Mike Brown who did something recently that very few have....TKO Asham. |

Agreed. Anyone worthy of acquiring would likely require a roster guy going the other way. |

What player on the Hawks, other than Hossa or Toews doesn't have the occasional brainfart? As well as Kane played last night I saw 3 giveaways by him as well. |

Zack Smith and Jim Slater are two guys I've wanted for the 4C role for a while. Neither is likely to happen but it doesn't hurt to dream. |

With the emergence of Shaw and Kruger, Bolland may be, or may become, expendable, though that would have to be thought out very carefully because of the intangibles Bolland brings. |

How bout a guy like Clifford from LA or one of the many muckers in Boston?
Hendricks in WSH? |

9-0-2 is pretty awesome.
Kind of irritated Mayers decided to fight that bozo whilst Kruger was in the process of possibly scoring the goal of the year. Dude undressed basically the entire Phoenix team only to have the whistle blown when he was 1v1 with Smith.
Game zero zero at that point and a prime opportunity got biffed. Would have been nice if he would have waited about 12-30 seconds but it didn't end up mattering in the end I suppose.
Also not happy that they took their foot off the gas. Being classy is a moot point against a team like that. They should have buried them.
Sharp looked better. Still skating slow as hell but played a better game. Kane is pretty unstoppable right now. Shaw is a legit center. Two days off and they should be able to demolish the Preds.
Really nothing glaring to complain about on this team right now. |

This is a guy I like and think checks off all the boxes as our host likes to say. As I said yesterday, important to keep the powder somewhat dry until you see what your needs are come April 1. |

His skating is questionable but he is big, can be physical and is good on draws. He may also command allot in return. |

Hendricks for sure, not sure he centers, also good shoot out guy. Where does he slot and what do you give?
Clifford is auditioning on top line with Kings, he is not going anywhere. Same with the Zack Smith stuff, centering our 4th line.
Hendricks for Frolik? Boyle for Frolik?
A little irony as some want to add more size etc...yet Rangers after struggles last year are parting with those guys or at least sitting them. Rupp and Boyle.
AT the end of the day, you watch and wait. let your team come back down to earth a bit, see how they handle it and then add.
I don't get the whole add two power forwards thing. Hossa a power forward in many regards, Bickell has size and skates, Stahlberg ditto. Like the platitudes, just never here specific names or realistic names. |

Rangers, big cap issues, would likely take picks/prospects. Maybe one serviceable NHLer. You are not trading for Brad Richards. |

Thing is...you can accept THE RARE mental mistake from a top 6 guy because they'll usually make up for it. And Kane did in spades last night. But if a 4th line forward costs you a game with a dumb penalty, that's usually a one way ticket to the press box or minors.
