Carter was offered to the Hawks.
Some scuttlebutt that it was just to jack up the price for other teams, but once you're in the doorway . . . - John Jaeckel
I do remember that....... |

As of now, Scott Burnside over on ESPN.com is projecting Corey Crawford to be the starting goaltender for Canada in the Olympics next year. WTF?

If he played his way onto the team we would all be happy.I just don't see it though. |

Seems to be more "Corey by Elimination" than anything. |

Exactly. I guess the backup goalie for Moose Jaw was busy those two weeks. |

Anyone watching the Nashville vs Minnesota game? Defensive struggle, I personally am curious to see how this Predators team looks. No Suter, fewer Glendale club-going Russians, curious to see how Nashville's team plays hockey in 2013. |

Fair enough. Rinne has pulled a Miikka Kiprusoff and is playing nearly all of the games. A tight game tonight could bode well for us tomorrow. Granted the only reason I'm "watching" this game is due to a night spent at the pubs.
Edit: Rinne isn't playing tonight Cheers to large amounts of alcohol! |

Seems to be a recent "certainty" anyway. Nashville has a game on their hands though because Cal Clusterf**k scored on the pp. |

Gosh I hope so. I figured this was a better option than watching Soupy and the Florida Hawks get blown out by Brouwer and the Caps |

Burnside and ESPN can't even spell hockey. He's got Corey Crawford, Montreal and Carey Price mixed up. Crawford would only get a call if Price, Luongo, MA Fleury, Cam Ward all decided they didn't want to go. |

I think the Hawks should be looking at a better option for that number #2 center if that was what you were thinking. If not we should stick with Bolland as the #2.
If possible,I would like to see if the Hawks can package Bolland(who is probably expendable due to his salary and our bottom 2 center depth), Stalberg and a couple of prospects (except Teravainen) for a legit #2 left handed (60+point) Center or Bickell, Stalberg and a couple of prospects for a Ladd type power forward. There might be a team out there looking to deal for a package like this if their own player is in the final year of his contract and they are out of the playoff chase.
Bowman did a nice job with the defensive depth this past summer so as of now they are ok there. The bottom 6 forwards are fine as of now and we have Carcillo hopefully back soon.
An upgrade at the Goalie position is always welcome. - Greek7
I was thinking more like 4th line Center.

Agreed, no way Crow ever gets a sniff of being on Team Canada. Canada doesn't necessarily have a tender that is miles ahead of his competition, but all the goalies you mentioned are much better in general than Corey and are certainly willing to play for their country. |

You should be watching the Montreal-Toronto game. The Leafs pretty much beat the crap out of the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge. And I can't say that upsets me much, in fact I just poured myself another MacAllan 18 Year hoping there are a few more Habs used as punching bags.

Cheers to that. I've been sampling some wonderful Scottish heather ales tonight. I can't complain when the Leafs defy mediocrity to beat another relatively inconsistent team in the Canadiens. Watched the highlights of the Buffalo vs NYI game and the Wash Florida game. The latter was very ugly, the former was a microcosm of why Tomas Vanek leads the NHL in points. |

Cheers to that! A friend gave me a bottle of the 15 Year Fine Oak. Great gesture except now I don't enjoy the 12 Year as much and that was almost half the price. Damn him! |
