This.
All of it.
Especially the part about Mayers screwing Kruger. - Ogilthorpe2
Mayers did it quickly on his first shift while Torres had been on the ice for awhile...I don't think it mattered who had the puck, it was happening then.
What was even worse is when the Hawks had the puck in the Kings zone on a rush and 2 Coyotes collided at center ice and the ref blew the play dead. |

If you are looking for trades....2 clubs have badly underachieved thus far, LA and Wash.
Kings made a deal and the Caps can't wait much longer. Can't keep changing the head coach...GM is well thought of, so that leaves players.

I wanted Ribeiro so bad then the draft happened and the Caps got him for pennies on the dollar. However, why would the Caps trade their top player right now?
And someone said earlier that the Caps won't let go of Johanssen and I believe that's true. |

Bickell WILL become comatose again. It's how he has played, probably since mites. Now that he is "playing well", everyone thinks he has seen the light. After Bickell has a nice 6 or 7 game run he'll go back to hibernating again, per usual. The guy is not consistent and never has been. And for a guy his size he plays like a marshmellow.
I wish Bickell would get hot for a couple weeks and then we could trade him for something, anything and anyone. The guy could be a stud with his size, shot and reasonably decent skating ability, but he most often plays like a floating turd. The last few 'super duper games' from Bickell have done NOTHING to convince me Bickell is anything other than Bickell.
Move him for talent that will show up nightly asap if something thinks the world of him. - kwolf68
Meh, even not scoring or hitting he still plays a responsible game.
His replacement value @ 550k is pretty boss.
Doubt he could be a stud. I personally don't think he has the killer instinct but definitely a useful role player for a number of years especially in the system the Hawks play that emphasizes position over hitting and all that jazz.

Can’t think of anyone who DOESN’T prefer Datsyuk over Kane. Stats guys “love” Datsyuk. Is this another conversation that you “mis-remember?”
And did you just call Bollig a “two-way” player? He is NOT any kind of player, especially NOT a defensive one. Q needs to play him in offensive zone draws against the other teams 4th line just to get him ice time. So Q tries to keep him as far away from the defensive zone as he can and Bollig still spends most of his time there. That is NOT the definition of a defensive player. - DaleHalas
Um Kane vs Datsyuk argument is kind of tiring. Datsyuk had Federov and Stevie Y to learn from and also played with Brett Hull.
Kane and Toews were men on islands coming up and have had to figure it out on their own. Incomparable as far as I am concerned and beyond happy they haven't moved Kane yet. If he sustains this the whole year or ever 3/4ths of this year he will be very close to leading the league in scoring and possibly a MVP.
Bollig is Bollig. Every team has that type of player. Definitely not a two way guy. He is a fighter / agitator and may score a very occasional goal. Is what it is. |

trust me im not trying to argue with you i love where the hawks are at, NOW. but you cant be ignorant and be content with this team without making any moves to solidify a cup run just because of their record 3 weeks into the season. Injuries and droughts WILL happen, and maybe at the wrong time. To cut yourself off of options or to ignore weaknesses is the wine of the fool.
problem is its a double edged sword this year. you CANT wait for a slump or a major injury to make a move this year because then it might be too late with the condensed schedule.
There is a lot to like about the way this team is playing right now, but the last thing you want to do is ignore the market and get doe-eyed about things such as "our not so right" 2nd line. Lets admit, a lot of people have already stated the 2nd line isnt working in previous days/games. if it wasnt for Kane's torrid pace, that 2nd line would still be a HUGE problem |

If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle. Nothing short of 85 Oilers would make you happy, more so a Canada cup team. Hysteria when you have a winning team. A team the envy of most in the league. But go ahead and split hairs and beat dead horses all the way home.... |

Because like a hysterical woman, you have to have something to obsess about. You have to guess and play fortune teller. My gosh, if we had a second line center, we might have 21 out of 22 points. |

If you take away the best player from any teams second line, that team would have a huge problem.

there are a number of things this team this is missing, 2C is just a checkmark on the list. I agree with JJ but you wont go at him about this
do you really think this team could contend with the 2012 kings, 2011 bruins, 2010 hawks, 2009 penguins, or 2008 red wings?
i say no way, not a chance, because we dont have the physicality, or goaltending for it. attack me all you want, but this is not a team that can line up next to a CUP CHAMPION like those. there is a distinct similarity between those that the hawks dont have. I GUARANTEE none of those ranked 29th in hits that year |

im sorry, but for how much the NHL has watered down this league, it still takes a PHYSICAL team to win the cup.
if you dont agree with that, then im sorry, i cant talk hockey with you |

Saw every game of that tournament LIVE and his game hasn't changed a bit. Always in the thick of things and always a factor when his game is on.

It's tiring!! Trade the wrong guy and we could be in worse shape then the 9-0-2 we are... Oh yea were 9-0-2!!! But lets be proactive cause maybe the grass is greener with someone else on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th line....Were loaded with wimps, hit him with your purse Bickell....Break up a locker room that has a 09 feel, sorda getting it together. But f* ck it trade someone... - moots
Bowman's in a tough spot. On the one hand, he's probably creaming himself and staring in the mirror and patting himself on the back for this incredible start. On the other hand, phuck with the chemistry, make an ill-advised impulse move, and run the risk of derailing the train. Something's going to happen before now and the end of the year, but would look for a move later than sooner.

Yes. The 2012 Hawks could have beat LA in a 7 game series. We just got an unlucky draw with Mike Smith. That series could have easily been a 4-0 sweep if a couple overtimes softies didn't go in. LA is arguably the weakest Cup team in recent history.
All of this is irrelevant anyways. This year's team has FAR more defensive depth and the special teams is light-years ahead as well which translates into "better" goal-tending. "Hits" aren't even an accurate stat to follow. We just need effective checking like we saw last night. |

There are things that ideally this team needs, 2C is about 4th on my list.

Unless you're a Canuck fan regular season points don't matter except to ensure the team makes the playoffs then yes you may just need that centerman, or winger or defenseman to win those 16 important games that matter. |

Nothing before the middle of March, so you know where your at and what you got. And who you might want to lock up for the upcoming years already on your roster. |

I think when we start comparing players often age is fogotten. Datsyuk was a force from the 2005-2006 season on....When he was 26-27 years old. |
