We might have to bail him out before he can bail out the Flyers.

The last three games Jake Voracek seems to be improving, getting back to where he was at the end of last season.

With the lack of puck moving defenseman on the team they really need players like him, that can transition the puck from the D zone to offense.

I thought Briere would go on a goal scoring streak soon, the way he was buzzing around the net in the last few games. Now I'm not so sure, his goal scoring chances are starting to decline.

Braydon Schenn looks a little better recently but still has a way to go.

Couts looks confident and great right now.

Love the effort from Knuble last night.
When Simmonds and Hartnell get back, Knoobs is a player that I would give a night off here and there to keep his legs fresh.

I hope Ellerby gets it together. He just was not performing well here and was passed up on the depth chart by Tyson Strachan. With Robak, Petrovic, and others coming up, he was the odd man out. Not too mention Gudbranson played his first game of the season last night and outshined Ellerby.
- Panthers88

Now that Ellerby has moved on to LA, why would you hope he gets it together? The Panthers received a 5th round pick for him. The odds the player that is drafted with this pick ever plays a game in the NHL is probably between 10-15%.

Because he's a great kid with potential from a different era of Panthers' draft picks. Plus, we have 4-5 much better prospects on defense coming up. I would never wish ill on a player, regardless of what we receive for him. He has a great family and for he and their sakes, I hope he gets it together.

We do indeed. Still yet to see Bjugstad, Petrovic, Grimaldi, Trochek, Howden.. well Howden played but it doesn't count.

I don't like the idea that you have to root for the guy to continue to fail just so the trade doesn't look lopsided. I hope JVR becomes the player we thought he would here, even if that means we "lost" the trade. I'm not going to wish ill on people just to justify a trade and get the satisfaction that we "won" the trade.

That's an interesting one. I think he is here full time next season. We have already been told that we will see him this season. I would LOVE to see him full time next season with Theodore backing him up or vice versa. However, Theo isn't signed next year and Clem is. I don't know if I like a Markstrom/Clem tandem.

i realize jake has fumbled a few pucks in the early going, but i cannot comprehend why he's 10th (!!!!!!) amongst flyers forwards in even strength TOI. sure, he spend a lot of time on the PP, but i just think good things usually happen when that dude's on the ice.

see: sestito's first goal, and briere's and coburn's goals against carolina last week.

Markstrom has played well in his limited time. Might as well give him a shot. I can see your concern with Clemmensen as the backup if things don't work out right away though.

In the Penguins series last spring Voracek looked like the best skater for the Flyers after Giroux. He has a ton of talent, but doesn't show up every game. I am hoping he strings together a bunch of great games now that he is getting back to form.

I guess I'd consider trading him but it would have to be for a puck moving defenseman that could play top 4 minutes.

The Flyers don't have many guys that can control and move the puck like Voracek.
I hope they keep him, but I am probably in the minority.

One of my arena neighbors asked me last night if the Panthers only have guys you've never heard of. Other than Upshall (out with an ankle injury--shocking!) and Huberdeau? Perhaps. Well, he did remember Theodore.

The best part about last night was my mom-in-law giving me my belated birthday present: an orange #8 Grossmann jersey. She wanted to give it to me back in September during preseason but couldn't because... lockout.

And has no desire to play in the NHL. College is where it's at.
