Just in folks... Nyquist is called up to Detroit for tonight's game !

So.... FINALLY..... Nyquist, Tatar, & Andersson are finally all up in Detroit at the same time. Hope Babcock gives all three of them plenty of ice time. Sit Cleary, Mursak, and Emmerton. This could give the Wings quite a different look if Babcock actually uses all three of them. Would love to see all three of them on the 4ht line to see what they can do. Wonder how they'd play with Eaves thrown in on that line. Hope they play well against the Ducks tonight. Wings BADLY need an infusion of their young talent on the ice if they really want to stay competitive.

I'll be at the Griffins' game tonight against the Lake Erie Monsters (Colorado Avalanche affiliate). Might be tough without many of the Griffins' top players called up to Detroit... including Mrazek. That leaves a large vacuum of talent in GR.... but that's what the Griffins' AHL team is suppose to do... develop the players and send 'em on up. Griffins do still have depth with Sheahan, Ferraro, Jurco, and Billins. I wish McCollum was as consistent as Mrazek in Net.

Emmerton has actually played very well. I would not say that he is a problem. As for Tatar and Nyquist, they should be put into the top two lines, not the forth line. They need to show that they can produce on our top lines.

It's our bottom six forwards that can't score goals. The two top lines are doing great. I'm all for letting some of the young talent play on those lines so see how they play... but I think the main objective is to be able to roll four strong lines (which all cup-contending teams can do). The Wings with their current bottom six simply do not have the depth to do that. The young talent from GR still has to earn their ice time in Detroit, and to me that means they've got to beat out the current bottom six forwards. I'd like to get rid of Cleary and Samuellsson. I also think Bertuzzi could be replaced as well (I do like his size and physical play though). I'm not ready to pull the plug on Emmerton yet.... I've watched him play in GR for a while. But I don't think he has the raw talent of either Tatar of Nyquist (time will tell).

You do know that Mursak got injured early in game 1 this season and hasn't played a game since right? Can't complain about him since he hasn't played yet this season. Cleary does have hands of stone this year. Keeps being set up perfectly and missing every time...that's when he's not busy giving the puck away. I think he should have practiced more during the lockout and worry less about the NHLPA politics that went on. He is playing himself out of town this year but then again with Holland, he likely knows he will get a 2 year contract again from the Wings. Emmerton has been ok so no real reason to sit him.

Tatar, Anderson and Nyquist looked good on the PP. Too bad they stick Eaves with Nyquist and Anderson instead of Tatar...if it atleast it was to play with Zetterberg or Filppula then i could understand but no hands players like Cleary or Abdelkader get that ice time instead.

The guys from GR had a heck of a night tonight... too bad the Wings couldn't play a full 60 minutes. Tatar and Andersson had a combined total of 4 points tonight. Pretty darn good. Nyquist didn't get any points tonight, but they will come. The defense was absolutely horrible tonight and cost us the game in the third period.

Griffins did good tonight with a 5-3 win over Lake Erie. Jurco only got an assist tonight but he had a great game. He is thriving on the extra ice time he's getting. He has good size and he was throwing his weight around a lot tonight (strong as heck on his skates and he can really hold onto that puck). Aubry had two fights tonight. Callahan with two goals.

Yeah... I should probably cut Mursak some slack. Kind of forgot he hasn't been playing. Emmerton is an average player. He hasn't proved to me he should get more ice time than any of the top GR players.

Heaven help us if Holland resigns Cleary... he's dug himself a huge hole and I have no confidence in him. He has NO business being on either of the top two lines... he gives the puck away every time he touches it.

Didn't see the game, but the highlights on NHL.com are all Griffins.

I agree that Emmerton is a bottom 6 guy at best right now and likely will never be much more. Tatar and Nyquist are potential top 6 guys. Nyquist still hasn't had a great game with the Wings yet but it's still early. Tatar on the other hand looks like he belongs in the top 6 right now and should stay there.

Cleary right now is killing any line he is put on including the PP. Don't know what the problem is with him (injury maybe) but something needs to change and quick. It's getting so bad that i'm starting to think Samuelsson is a better option and that is pretty scary...atleast once in a while Sammy puts it in.
