Yeah, meh.
Sens were robbed of a goal against the Habs. It evens out at the end of the year, I guess. - Pecafan Fan
The more troublesome thing for the Habs is that Ott was standing in the crease, with less than 10 seconds left in the game, surrounded by three Hab players and not a single one of them seemed to care to move him from his position. |

You gotta watch the little things that he does though dude. Clearing the puck, making smart plays, blocking shots> Hes on the Pk, hes on the PP> He makes smart descisions. He very much has played like an allstar so far. He has been amazing, frankly. His game last night was nearly perfect. - Aquaman_2400
When he's not knocking pucks into his own net, his game is nearly perfect. "Nearly" is obviously being used very loosely here. |

No, it's not even possible because neither team they play for is that stupid.
No, you can't get either one of them for a laughable package of Grabovski, Gunnarsson and a 1st. - Two_For_Truth
It's hard for some Leafs fans to grasp this, but Gunnarson just isn't that good. |

Has Kadri ever scored 90 points in an NHL season? And don't say it's who Giroux plays with. He led his team in points and is now the captain. He earned what he got.
You got the wrong draft year by the way. Giroux is three years older than Kadri. It's a laughable comparison. - Two_For_Truth
Your the one that's laughable....Robbie Earl.

Solid, steady, but nothing spectacular. Better as a bottom pairing guy... |

I'm trying to figure out how Philly drafted Giroux so late when it's been stated by you many times that you need to tank to get any talent.....Admit your wrong. Seeing as you orgasm all over him |

It goes back to what I was saying this morning: playing with Phaneuf made him look a lot better than he actually is. |

Seriously, we're slightly overachieving on defense (I actually think having a competent goaltender helps immensely), but let's be serious here: there's a lot of holes and weaknesses on this D core.
Just look at how they struggle to get the puck out their own end. It's as much the fault of the forwards, but we were lucky to win last night and we completely come apart against upper echelon teams. - gravyface
Exactly. Look how bad they stuggled the first 5 minutes of the game last night. I realize the home crowd adrenaline was in full flight for the Jets but the Leafs looked lost out there. After the 1st minute of play I expected it would be 2 or 3 nothing Jets before the end of the 1st period. |

It seems like you could make better arguments if you weren't so focused on replying to what wasn't said. Drop the strawmen. Just give it a try.
I couldn't really care less about what Aquaman originally said, but the very first thing you did was contort his post into something that it wasn't. |

Gunnarsson does just fine with or without Phaneuf.
And don't bother recap your love for Phaneuf as the Leafs best defender. He's still not making his partners look like superstars. He just sucks a little less than the rest of them. |

23rd in the league in goals against.
There's definitely room for improvement. - Atomic Wedgie
18th (per game) ....and if you remove that horrendous 30 mins in the Islanders game they're into the top half of the league. IMO, tighter defensive play is one of the few positives ...so far. |

At least he looks a little more composed and cool than some of the other guys. He's not brilliant, but he doesn't handle the puck like a hand grenade.
Franson, on the other hand... You could take the puck away from him with a dirty look. |

Phaneuf is the Leafs best defender by far. Not his fault he has to play 5-7 minutes more than he should against the othe rteams best players.

He can't even make career AHLers look like superstars. |

In Aquaman's defence, it must really suck to be sitting around the Justice League HQ, and a call comes in that there is an evil genius doing something that needs to be stopped, and you get all excited to go fight crime, and then Batman and Superman and Wonderwoman and the Wonder Twins tell you to take a seat because the crime they are fighting is in a downtown core, so they aren't going to need to summon the help of blue whales or seals or sharks or anything. |
