Got him with my last pick in a 16 team league. Late 200's.
Best. Pick. Ever. - Leeman4Gilmour
In my pool, 10 teams, I scored Corey Crawford with the last pick overall. |

As long as he doesn't get hurt. I for one think, JVR crashing the net is safer than playing along the boards all the time injury wise.
RC is a smart cookie. He's utilizing this flawed roster and make it look like a good team. Imagine what he would do if he had more stars to work with like with the Ducks. - hooligoon
Well yeah, for sure.
RC is a refreshing change to RW. Carlyle communicates with young players and look at the results!! Long way to go but what a concept!

Toby Maguire?
- p_zub
He's by far the worst actor I have ever seen, especially Spiderman 3, but in this scene he was stellar! The fear in his eyes is sobeleivable.
Johnny: How long could we maintain? I wondered. How long until one of us starts raving and jabbering at this boy? What will he think then? This same lonely desert was the last known home of the Manson family; will he make that grim connection when my attorney starts screaming about bats and huge manta rays coming down on the car? If so, well, we'll just have to cut his head off and bury him somewhere, 'cause it goes without saying that we can't turn him loose. He'd report us at once to some kind of outback Nazi law enforcement agency and they'll run us down like dogs. Jesus, did I say that? Or just think it? Was I talking? Did they hear me?

What would Toronto want from the Pens for Kuli. It's seems the Pens are eyeing him to play along side with Malkin.
Maata + 1st 2013?
Maata + kennedy?
Sutter straight up?
or any package where kulemin and sutter are the two main pieces?
aaaaand Go! - hooligoon
Suter was the main piece in the Jordan Staal trade. I would have to think you are underrating how good Suter is if you think he is in the same stratosphere as Kulemin. I can't imagine Kulemin is worth anything more than a second rounder from the Pens. |

A top-five drafted American who's young and can score...
I wonder if anyone's viewed him as our next Kessel. - Tee-Dot
If he can stick in front of the net and produce anything like 50% of what andreychuk did back in the day, than I will be happy. Just don't want him going the route of Antropov, Poni, big but soft.
BTW did anyone have flashbacks of yesteryear when Poni took a late penalty that lead to the game losing goal? Just glad it was for the other team this time. |

Penguins won't give up enough to make it worth it for the Leafs.
Leafs will ask too much to make it worth it for the Penguins.
I just don't see a trade here. |

The difference is, they already have 2 "pretty good" centres. The likely see a potential gold mine in joining Kulemin with Malkin on the second line, since they are such good friends and have a history of playing lights-out together. Kulemin could likely turn out to be the Kule of 2 years ago once again... |

I honestly thought I would hate the guy, but even my cold, bitter heart is starting to warm to him.
For the love of Spinner Spencer's dad, can we please try a JVR - Kadri - Kessel line? Even if it's just on the power play?
Tell Kadri and Kessel to do all their fancy Harlem Globetrotters poop - and tell JVR to drive the net.
And then dust off those parade plans... - Atomic Wedgie
I don't want to say I told you so but, I did tell you the JVR would be a fan favorite after about a month. The guy is awesome. When you consider that Kadri and Frattin look to be legit top six forwards, suddenly this is a team that is way better than anyone thought.
Look, I am not saying they're cup contenders, but when factor in that they have essentially added a star goalie and 3 game breaking forwards its interesting to see the team actually grow together and improve.
One thing about Frattin: I don't think his play is an abberation. And he is 10X better than I thought. The way he takes the puck to the net, through or around defenders is almost Malkin like. Now, I am not comparing the two, but the way Frattin will pass it off the boards and step around the d, or just plow through them and somehow keep the puck, the way he just drives the net every single game. I don't think its far fetched to think he could be allstar in this league. |

I just don't see it. If any team knows the value of a top notch third line centre, its the Penguins. I do not think it
"likely" that they see a goldmine there. Kulemin for Suter would have to go down as one of the worst trades ever. It would be worse than JVR for Schenn, which I still believe is a heist of Gilmourian proportions. |

I found a list of winners on the Wikipedia entry. I'm not sure if those are official winners or just compiled by fans based on who would have won it. |

You've gone too far there.
But if we could add a shooting 1st line centre, this team wouldn't be horrible to look at. |

I don't want to get in a big argument here, but Antropov's knees really prevented him from being a bigger star and he is a useful player but JVR is just miles and miles ahead of him in terms of sheer talent. As for Poni? I am closer to the skill set of Ponikerovski than Ponikerovski is to JVR. |

You obviously dropped out of the UG School of Sports Management.
Basically, the key is that you just have to "find a sucker". That's all. A couple trades where somebody gives you some franchise players for nothing and it's boom, done.
Oddly enough, the only GM we've had in the past two decades who came close to creating assets out of nothing was Brian Burke... |

I know the value of Sutter to the Pens, especially with J. Staal gone. I am not saying that Kulemin is as good of a player as Sutter (we're talking potential/ceiling not intangibles or heart).
Having said all that, comes the trade deadline, contenders such as the Pens would overpay to have 2 complete monster top lines and the missing piece of the puzzle would be Kulemin. Besides, Malkin & Kulemin tore it up together in the KHL and their chemistry is undeniable and for that, Pens are willing to over pay for such a responsible 2 way young player who will give Malkin wings to fly. |

The amazing thing about the Thomas contract is that the Isles can toll his contract next year, and the following until he dies.
What this means is that, because he is suspended, they just move his contract into next year, with the same cap hit if they so choose. It allows a team like the Isles to basically get all the cap hit benefit without having to pay a dollar out. - faceto27
AND if Thomas did decide to play next season, his only option is the Isles.... |

If Antropov had Steve Austin's knees, he still wouldn't be able to hold a candle to JVR.
And I'm not saying that to pump up JVR's tires. |
