Thats because you're a good man, with a nice ass.
You just want the Leafs to keep winning so our brilliant fans have more to female dog about. - systemtool
One of the crazy reasons Leaf Nation is so cool...The hurt runs deep and long...Deep down we all want them to win and we have a difficult time believing that they ever will... |

I'm really impressed how Holzer's game has come around the more comfortable he gets in the NHL...he can be a solid 5-6 dman in the future. Franson looks like he's here to stay as well. - p_zub
He looked awful the first two games, but he is definitely getting more comfortable. |

Yea, no doubt. Always with the cautious optimism and eternal pessimism. |

tim thomas to NYI is such an interesting trade. I mean the Isles convinced Nabokov eventually to play... |

The Islanders needed to reach the cap floor, Im not sure they actually expect him to play. |

Oh I fully understand. But all I'm saying is that Garth managed to convince Nabokov to play. |

Phaneuf's being overused right now...doesn't have the conditioning to be a 25 min/night player. He starts to float on his shifts 5 min into the game, and his +/- is starting to reflect that... - p_zub
I wouldn't go that far, guy doesn't float, he still puts the effort, he just struggles |

Difference was, Nabokov still wanted to play, just not for the Isles. Thomas has made it clear he doesn't want to play at all for ANY team. The scenario with Thomas is probably to have a cap hit they can pretty much use in perpetuity, just keep him suspended and roll the contract over year after year. |

Only way they get Thomas to play is if they kidnap his family as well, just like they did with Nabby, Vishnovsky and Tavares. Luckily for Timmy he built a bunker in the Colorado Rockies for when Obama Bin Hitler comes for his freedoms. |

Clearly we've been watching two different teams...to say Phaneuf has been struggling is putting it mildly. May have something to do with the fact he's been moved off his familiar side for Mike (frank)ing Kostka, but teams need to look to their captains to set an example, not simply play midde-of-the-pack decent. |

Exactly. They get cap benefit and it costs nothing. |

Malkin and a 1st. - Pecafan Fan
good one for a Canadiens fan
I think Burke turned down a 1st Round pick for him last year. I guess he'd be taking that offer now if he was still the GM. |

Has easily been our best D. He reads and anticipates the play way better than No. 3. He is a much better passer, and has a great stick, even when he is beat, he has repeatedly managed to get a good stick on the puck / stick of the other player without drawing a penalty.
Can he maintain this level of play? That is the question, but if he does, I like this guy allot. |

Only it's not Burke this time and yes, Nonis would have then, and now, most likely have accepted that offer. |

He's been the best Leafs defenceman by far. Nobody else even comes close.
Why do Leafs fans feel they need to attack this guy?
Yes, he's a douche. I really don't care.
But go ahead, repeat the story about him controlling the tape deck in the dressing room. It's fantastic proof that he's not a good captain. |

Trade Phaneuf to the Flyers for Coburn/Couturier/Simmonds and call it a happy day

Don't know if Kulemin would be worth Brandon Sutter "in terms of importance" for the Penguins. We all think Kulemin would be very good alongside Malkin/Neal.
