What was your reply that Rome no longer exists? Didn't have one? Didn't think so.

An "empire" that lasted 14 years compared to one that lasted nearly 500 years.

Starting to see where you got wrecked yet?

They've won the President's Trophy twice and we're never going to hear the end of that. That's as good as a Cup win in Vancouver.

His invalid point was that because some people can't remember the Leafs winning the Cup, that it never happened. To that I said, how many people remember the Roman Empire? If the answer is none, does that mean it never existed?

If you want to get specific about it, the Roman Empire stood for 1480 years.

If We're comparing the Leafs to the Romans I Hope that Nonis is alot of Augustus and not so much with Caligula.
Sorry John Hurt.

I originally put 1500 years but it boils down to how you categorize it because it was split into Western and Eastern. It gets technical and is too far from the point of the analogy.

Burke was Caligula. Why else would he knock up Hazel Mae?

Did JFJ play a fiddle while the city burned to the ground? I guess he did...

This is starting to fit far too easily...

Because it's Toronto and he probably doesn't want to be here, he's going to ask for big dough, money well beyond what he brings to the table - perimeter player, no grit, no leadership, no intangibles. Trade him.
- triggermartin

And I thought Toronto had the smartest fans in the league.

Just saw a Tim Hortens commercial that said "No one says no to grilled cheese" and I just found that kind of (frank)ed up, grilled cheese? Its only one step above fruitcake and meatloaf and hamburger helper as foods you only eat if youre poor. In my opinion, most people say no to grilled cheese.

It happened and I saw it. I was 9 years old but I did see George Armstrong hoist the Stanley Cup. So I am a testament of it happening.

Our best player finally breaks out of his goalscoring slump with a game winning goal, and he gets chirped for it.

best. fans. ever.

- Feeling Glucky?

This place is more insufferable after a win than a loss.

I expect the petulant whining and chirping after losses, but when so called fans of this team use every positive bit of news as an opportunity to female dog, the act gets old fast.

I have Reimer if you can believe it and he's looking like a decent super late G pick.
- Domidives

Got him with my last pick in a 16 team league. Late 200's.

Best. Pick. Ever.
