Agreed. Which is why I said it depends on contract demends. - gojets
It's not about contract demands. It's about comparables and statistics - the market in short, which will put him in the 7 mil range. Trade him. |

You could easily argue Kadri and Frattin deserve to be in the top 6. MacArthur is capable of putting up 60 pts, and although Kuli hasn't been producing as much as he's capable of, he still plays well enough defensively. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Kadri has to prove it, and I hope he does. So does Frattin, but he's more of a 3rd liner on a good team. Same with Kulie, and Macart. We want to win, and if your top 6 includes Kulie, MacArt and Frattin, we won't. We'll DOMINATE 11th place. I like kulie, mac, and frattin, but their 3rd line on a good team. That's what I want them to be.....eventually |

Might be worth it... Huberdeau and a 2nd for Phil. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Would be great for the Leafs if that happened, but I don't see the Panthers doing that. |

Amen, brother. But isn't almost unreal and incredibly sad to think that we are still in this kind of situation after missing the playoffs for EIGHT YEARS? I honestly think a pod of dolphins would have seriously had us in better position than our recent management. |

7 mil. Who are you comparing him to? I hope your wrong. 5.5-6, I'm ok with. At 7, I'd get rid of him too. Not sure who'd pay him that. He's worth less that P. Kane, and he's paid 6.3 |

frattin is PPG right now. alot of teams dont have 6 guys at a PPG
kadri is at .8 PPG as well. i imagine if they were actually given 15-18min a night instead of 10-13 their stats would be top 6 easy
now they are young, so you want to give them a couple years before you really line them up against opposition shut down lines and top pairing d |

Take him.
Let's be honest here, anyway. Does anyone here REALLY believe Kessel wants to play in Toronto beyond this contract? Why would he? It's not his fault, but his trade here is simply a huge albatross around his neck, and the franchise as well. |

Hey, I'm as a big a leafs fan as the next guy, I just refuse to keep believing that some of our solid 3rd line talent is top 6 when its clearly not. Eight years have sobered my judgement. |

No pressure on Kessel to score a goal or anything, but there's 348 NHL players who've scored a goal this season (344 coming into tonight, plus Jack Skille, J.T. Miller, Roman Cervenka, and Matt Calvert who've all notched their 1st of the season tonight) - and he's not one of them. |
