Because Kessel isn't overpaid, you don't come often on this site? - Pecafan Fan
Even at $6.5 or $6.7 million, that's not really an overpayment. Maybe three years ago, but I would assume that's very reasonable. |

I'm not even really for trading Kessel, unless like was stated in the blog, Toronto can get a boatload back for him, and i'm not convinced of that. A good return? Sure, but a great one? I don't know. - blahman20
Agreed, I don't know why we are more desparate for deals than winning.
We are supposed to give away spare parts and players that don't fit for good players or players with potential. You do not trade a 30 - 40 goal scorer who wants to play on your team. You find him more players to play with.
I would love to see us get a better draft pick this year. But I would trade that away if we could get Strome or Nielsen who are closer to NHL ready for that pick. I would trade top pick for top prospect anyday. Better to know what you are getting than the unknown. There is more upside with the unknown there are factor like growth etc. that might not happen.

Instead of trading Kessel, just crash the season and draft a good C that could play with Kessel, and maybe trade a few other players for picks and prospects. This would probably be the easiest way to get a #1C. - Jadass12
If only it was that easy, right. |

Why in the hell would Toronto even think about trading him? Do they want to be pushed even further into the rebuilding process that they "aren't going through". He's slumping right now. Change his line mates. Sit him a game. Don't freakin trade him. Retarded to even think about it.
That being said, Kessel for Weiss, Howden, and a 2nd. - Panthers88
Try huberdeau or markstrom would have to be included no doubt |

When Kessel starts scoring, it's tough to "crash the season".
It's one or the other and probably not both. |

because most of what he says is quickly disagreed with and disproven. Apparently that makes discussions no fun...

He actually didn't. It was much more insidious than that.
The entire administration - from Bush to Rice - would say something about the 9/11 attacks, and then immediately say something about Hussein.
It was deliberate, and it was effective. |

There is no "easy" way. There is no guarantee on a prospect. Trading for an established centerman would give you a better gauge of success. Still, no guarantees. |

The Leafs already do that, because they don't have a true #1C.

I know there's no guarantee on prospects, but I'm just saying it wouldn't cost the Leafs anything if they tanked, and picked a C at the draft. |
