Really?

Carter and Richards are underpaid (CAP HIT) NOW. in another 3 years, they'll be making 40% below market.

those 2 contracts are STEALS.

Just shows how Burke grossly overestimated too many things in Toronto.

Why in the hell would Toronto even think about trading him? Do they want to be pushed even further into the rebuilding process that they "aren't going through". He's slumping right now. Change his line mates. Sit him a game. Don't freakin trade him. Retarded to even think about it.

That being said, Kessel for Weiss, Howden, and a 2nd.

Yeah locking up that much money for that amount of time is always a good idea. The Kings got lucky with a very hot Quick and won the cup and now it looks all good, but that doesn't happen everywhere. ANYWAYS, not sure why i'm arguing about Jeff Carter at this point.

Just checked, only 5 active players ahead of him, Kovalchuk, Lecavalier, Jokinen, Brewer and surprise surprise Jamal Mayers

well if you take each players career best year and magically put them all together, they'd have been pretty good

I'm not even really for trading Kessel, unless like was stated in the blog, Toronto can get a boatload back for him, and i'm not convinced of that. A good return? Sure, but a great one? I don't know.
- blahman20

Scott Gomez would be a better return than losing him to UFA... wait a minute, I take that back... ummmm Lombardi would be.... no, nevermind, well you get my point right?

It's still a BAD contract, but it did work out for LA. Never denied that.

and if Carter is under-paid, damn GM's must be loving Kessel's deal for the next two years. 5.4Mil for a 25 year old 80 point player.

when you are trying to address multiple points, its easier to read an understand.
Its common practice on forums... But it is worth letting your blood boil over

If you read the previous comment (for instance) I think it would be relatively clear.

only for next 2 years though... see how that works, then his cap hit goes up $1.5-2M

Carter and richards stay the same for next 10 yrs.

This is the same guy that was supposed to be anchoring the blue line for team USA for years to come?

Instead of trading Kessel, just crash the season and draft a good C that could play with Kessel, and maybe trade a few other players for picks and prospects. This would probably be the easiest way to get a #1C.

George Bush said Saddam Hussein played a role in the 9/11 attacks 10,000 times and it all of a sudden became true enough to go to war over. Was just hoping that same phenomena would apply here too.
