Look dude, I have a frigging Masters in English and I can tell you fully and without any kind of possible room for error: it is ironic.

If you don't mind, on behalf of sticklers everywhere, I'd like to address this point.

I'm assuming you are under the age of 25. If I'm wrong, however, everything I write here will still apply.

The only people who state that spelling and grammar don't matter on the internet are people who are making spelling and grammar mistakes.

Of course it matters. When you come on a forum like this and puff out your chest and declare all of us to be less intelligent than you, I'm willing to consider your point of view.

But when you can't string together two sentences without spelling and grammatical errors, it makes it very difficult for me to assume that you are indeed as intelligent as you profess to be.

Your posts will be judged upon their entire content.

The funniest part about that is that i don't entirely disagree, but you have to consider that almost all of these mistakes are made because of the keyboard i am using. Not that you will believe that but its the truth.

And I never said I was more intelligent than anyone. I was only saying that the narrative surrounding hockey is very very dumb, which it is and which from experiance, I know you are smart enough to realize. I am not a professional hockey writer so I whether or not I am right doesnt matter. But I don't think its too much to expect some intelligent commentary and analysys, something you do not get from the mainstream hockey media in Toronto.

It is pretty annoying when you try to talk some hockey and a bunch of fifth graders get all friggin bent out of shape about spelling.

Secondly, when a guy takes the route of being condescending and then is blatently wrong, well thats right near intollerable. I am sorry but if you don't know what irony is why in the hell would you get in an argument about it?

So here's an idea: if you want to generate some intelligent commentary, it's best to not open the conversation by declaring that everyone on average is less intelligent than the fans of 29 other teams.

Because that includes Canucks fans.

And Flyers fans.

And both Coyotes fans.
