Playing on the first line. The amount of goals is similar et Eller was playing with Moen. - soad_live
so you're telling me that eller wasn't good enough to play in the top six of the 3rd worst team in the league, but somehow he's worth a 22 year old, top-line center? |

o'reilly > eller by a longshot. o'reilly is the avs best center imo and that's saying a lot since they have duchene and stasny. |

Marty is and was better then hank, if only because he's been in the league for (frank) knows how long. He's a living legend. I'm sure hank will be spoken of in the same breath someday, but not yet. - Deadmau55
I'm not sure if Hank will play as long as Marty plus I'm still not sold on him being a "money" goalie. He might end up being another "Luongo". |

Eller is a stud and could be a first line center. He's better than Statsny.
Weber would run the powerplay for them.
With those two in the lineup that first round pick would likely be around 17-20th. - tennisball

i'm telling you that goals are irrelevant because centers are supposed to get assists and be excellent 2-way players. |

18 goals and 40 assits certainly is top-line center. besides, its' similar numbers to pleks and desharnais....... except that he's WAY younger than both, and nowhere near his prime. |

As a 21 year old, who plays against top lines every game, and put up 55 pts, while leading the league in takeaways, and I believe has been in the top 15 in each of the last three years, he is waaaay ahead of Lars Eller at this point.
Hes not a 1st center, yet. He showed he can be last year, but hes a top notch 2C with approaching, elite 2way play.
Another season or 2 like last year and he will in consideration for selke nominations. |

I don't really know much about O'reilly, but I do know that Eller definitely wouldn't be the #1 centre on the Avs. If the Habs are asking about him, it's going to take a lot more than him and Weber.
If it were me it would start with Desharnais. I don't really know if the Avs would even be interested in him but that's who I'd start with. |

every fan base has them. at the beginning of last year, an oiler fan said that sam gagner and a 2nd rd pick might be an overpayment for karlsson. |

Not at all, I've been living in NY my entire life (which is very long ), married a BIG Ranger fan many years ago and she'll even admit that Hank might not take the Rangers where they want to go and that's to the cup. Has been shaky in the playoffs. Remember that Hank, in his prime, was outplayed by a old, fatso (not me) in Marty. |

I agree that O'Reilly > Eller but the guys has 1 season of 18 goals and dont want to sign. 18 goals is far from 1st line center production and a below average second line center.
He was 1st line center because Duchesne was injured and Stastny was in a slump.
He's a second line center and he is young. Eller is a great 3rd line center and he is young as well. Oh and he is bigger.
Eller and a 1st?? LOOOOOOOLLLLLL
Eller and a 2nd?? more fair |

ITS TRUE, I WOULD NEVER DO THAT. Lol jk, though I still probably wouldn't do that, not because its not a good trade, thats a ridiculous trade for us, but because we would be even more sparse at center. |

You're talking about the greatest goalie of all time vs. a serial choke artist that nobody wants to trade for. |

why are you only looking at goals. joe thornton usually scores 18-25 goals, hell, i think he won the hart (or was runner up) scoring 22. a center brings so much more than just goal scoring. he's there to win faceoffs, set up other players, plus o'reilly is a beast in his own zone.
look at the whole package, not just the goals. |

come on, you wouldn't trade your 2nd line center for a norris trophy winning d-man because you're worried about your depth. obviously a pointless argument, but if that's your view, then you need to lay off the gonj, lol |
