rags fans think mcdonagh is the 2nd coming of lidstrom so i don't think there's any way we'd be okay with trading him for an currently underachieving doughty. that's not to say that i don't think doughty might be a better defenseman currently i just still wouldn't do it.

as for kopitar > gabby...they're different players. can't really compare them. kopitar is a sick center with age on his side that stacks assists while gabby is one of the best snipers in the league that can score 40 goals a year.

Ryan is good, but not Lidstrom by any means. Swapping Kop for Gabs is a wash as they both are great, but injury prone.

How is doughty underachieving? He's eating up minutes like crazy, with Greene and Willie out. He holds our defense together. I will say though, that hank is better then Quick, but not by much, and this is coming from a huge JQ fan.

Obviously, Lundqvist is a great goalie but I dont think he is the best in the world... Yes he has won the Vezina and a gold medal but besides last year, he always plays like crap in the playoffs...
Id take Lundqvist in a heartbeat over the goalies the Isles have but if I had a choice at anyone, Id take Quick... Won a cup already, carried his team at times and is younger... (plus his brother-in-law is on the Isles )

Offensively, yeah, they’re pretty close, probably even favouring Gaborik a bit. Defensively, as much as Gaborik is pretty underrated at that part of the game, Kopitar is FAR better. He’s a top notch two way player. Mainstay on the PK. Can play him in every situation. Which tips it pretty strongly in his favour. Not to mention he’s not made of glass (in addition to being a bit younger, as you mention).

It’s not even close to me, I’d easily take Kopitar over Gaborik.

He was stooopid last night. The Av's had 3 or 4 odd man breaks and he stopped them all. A couple of them were 3 on 1's.

I don't think the numbers tell the whole story. Like I said, he's been relied on pretty heavily, and I think he's done pretty good so far.

The Islanders need some help on the blueline, I know Whitney's been struggling and was just a healthy scratch, perhaps the Islanders would take a flyer on him.

I wonder if the Oilers are looking at a prospect center more than one already on the roster, I can't imagine them wanting anyone else other than Tavares. Strome is a great prospect, but who knows what they would want back. One guy I might want to look at is Anders Lee, I don't know much about him but at 6'3 and about 230lbs that would be something we need down the middle.

Since every Ranger player is better than every Kings player, you would assume the Rangers made the stanley cup Finals or something lol. So if everybody is great on the team, is Hank that good or is his defense the reason he is referred to as the "King" lol. Only in NY can someone be labeled the "King" when he hasn't won anything and you have Marty Brodeur one mile away with all of his rings.
