Fierce wind and rain last night!! Starting towards a drying trend with sunny weather for the weekend. We'll be going to Steep Island (off of Quadra Is.) this weekend. Friends are caretakers there after the previous caretakers were fired for hosting orgies there. No word of a lie!

You'll probably see CS in net Saturday if he plays well tonight ( meaning he stays awake during the game ).

Wow! Steep Island looks awesome.

I'm surprised you found one that wasn't the forward making a fool of him by making a move and going around him. After all he is listed as a defenseman.
- CanUSA17

Honestly, this could describe any D in the top4 this season. Edler hasn't been noticeably worse than a few others.

The entire corps has looked better the last few games. Hopefully they've turned the corner.

Devils won't be drafting any defensemen, especially in the first round. Defense is our strength, forwards are very weak.

How were the balsamic caramelized onions with your Prock-like Pinot Noir, last week?
- Marwood

Nice, I did a maple & mustard glaze on the salmon with sweet onions, good balance of sweet / savoury, yum. Opted for a Coal Harbour 311 Lager instead of the Proco Noir. My wife gets a hangover from more than one glass and I'm not allowed to drink 4 glasses

I never said I can't drink 4 glasses of wine, only that I would get the evil eye for doing it and that's just not worth it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just don't get excited about Minny. They've got the worst sweaters in the league, they've never won anything, except that time when the beat us in the second round.

There's just no history there for me, now Cowtown, that's a different story!!

I'll go out on a limb and say it will be the most boring game of the season thus far, 1-0 Canucks, Schroeder with the lone goal.
- 1970vintage

Hopefully it's a little more exciting than recent Min-Van games, their PP usually does pretty well against us so staying out of the box will be important. I agree that this will probably be a first goal scored wins type of game in all likelihood.

The Wild are pretty good up front with Parise, Heatley, Koivu, Setoguchi, Cullen, Clutterbuck, Bouchard, etc.

Meh, even the Calgary games have lost their lustre for me in recent years. The only games that I get really pumped for are against teams like Chicago, San Jose, LA, etc. The games against Anaheim are usually pretty entertaining as well.

Agreed, and I blame Bertuzzi for the lone blemish.

Iginla should take Edler out for dinner and explain that he has to be the new Ohlund. That without the constant battle Iggy just can't seem to get it going.

I laughed when AV said this yesterday....

“To me, he looks real good on the ice and doing everything out there that a player can possibly do,” said the Canucks coach. “I’m not sure exactly where they are on the medical side. I don’t get involved until a player comes to me and the medical staff has cleared him to play. I don’t know what to tell you. On the ice, it doesn’t look like baby steps. It looks like leaps and bounds.”

Really AV? In training camp you were saying he was "real close, its a matter of sooner than later". In fact, AV has been telling us he's close the entire time... but wait, he doesnt do that does he?

In the end, it wasnt Kesler and agent lying about his recovery. It was Gillis and AV. They are all getting the same reports from the doctors. Kesler camp keeps saying that Gillis is wrong....

I guess "we are all canucks" translates to " they are all morons".

Gillis/AV have 0 credibilty left with me.

Yeah, Gilman and Gillis have lied publicly or used the wrong wording on many different occasions. I remember when they said that Gragnani would be given a qualifying offer and when Gilman said thad Edler wanted top 5 D money and everyone was freaking out.

Toronto is wayyy too high, it means more to the fans than it does to the players. It's not even a rivalry on the ice. Same with Montreal, in fact there's very little fan rivalry or team rivalry there. I'd move L.A. and San Jose higher, the players have a huge rivalry in those games and you can tell that some players just hate each other.
