Brown has a Stanley Cup....just saying
This team needs a culture change and that deal would do the trick.
Homer, any idea on how the Sabres brass feel about Stafford? He has been beyond disappointing. I bet we could get a solid stay at home d-man with a mean streak for him and some change. - rustbelt82

And he doesn't play physical. He plays a very smart game, but he doesn't smash into guys or go right through them. It's not always exciting, but he's solid.
I do wish he projected more leadership though. I guess he leads in his own way and we aren't in the locker room. But I want to see more emotion. Get mad. Get in someone's face. Take charge. - keptupl8
he is an all around solid player.. he needs to be more of a leader though.. at least from a fans standpoint it seems like he does.

Somehow, I am still excited for the game tonight. I feel like Miller can show up, stand on his head and get this team going in the right direction. The past 5 years have been all about Miller. When he is lights out they are tough to beat. When he is average they are bottom dwellers!
Not a huge difference really.....and Brown almost played 3 full seasons before hitting his stride. Also he has not scored less than 22 goals in the past 5 years, and has a career high is 33 goals.
Brown is a true leader, and we do not have that on this team. Pominville is a poopty leader.....he is the type if guy who will say "its hard to win" and "I thought it was good that we narrowed it down to a one goal game" during an interview after a loss.
THE TEAM IS TAKING ON THAT PERSONA - rustbelt82
Youre leaving out a lot.
Pominville has 264 assist, Brown 166...almost 100 more.
Pommer averages .81 ppg, Brown .60.......that's 17 points over a season.
L.A. doesn't think Brown is a very smart player, Pommer is the defintion of a smart player.
You can prefer Brown to Pominville of course, probably many do, but its just not a good deal for us, IMO.

Too much
Why does everyone wanna trade Ennis?
I think he's had a good start to his career - jdfitz77
I have a suspicion that the Sabres are trying to get O'Reilly. And Ennis would probably be the starting point. Obviously this is just an opinion but O'Reilly could be perfect here. Not a huge fan of him being a number 1c but we could have 3 really good centers to roll out with 19, 25, and O'reilly. Ennis can't win faceoffs and is inconsistent

I think that article is a bunch of nonsense actually. - Homer
I actually was looking at the Corsi stats earlier which is were a lot of this info comes from and it is telling when you look at numbers like +/- for defensemen. Some guys like Regehr get most of their shifts in the defensive zone which obviously lead to more opposition scoring chances. Also last season and through this season, Regehr, Myers, and Sekera were facing the toughest competition, while Ehrhoff, Leo and Sulzer faced lesser. It's interesting to look at.
