If you want to do that, why not sit Leopold? He's been worse than Sulzer. - buffalofan19
Not sure I want Leopold as a healthy scratch
I want him in the line-up so he can hopefully straighten his game out enough for us to get a decent return for him when he's traded |

everyone needs to calm down we need to play at least 20 games and then we
can determine from there what the team needs. sabres are off to a slow start but they will wake up soon. i still think we will be either 6th 7th or even 8th seed. if we need any roster changes i would suggest making a trade with the kings and try to get dustin brown or somebody that holds players accountable for there play on the ice. - todd.manning
So you tell everyone to calm down then suggest a trade to get someone who is impossible to get like Dustin Brown.
Which is it man. Do we calm down and stay put or make a trade? |

I agree with that. My only thing is the situation that finally causes Terry or Teddy to make some changes will clearly be far more desparate than any of us want it to be. In the fans opinion I think things are pretty bad right now and they are not budging. I think empty seats, many of them, will be the trigger. - Buffalo--Sabres
Well TP is a business guy and I could see him riding out this year with Ruff since the seasons are sold the money is already in his wallet. Then fire him at seasons end and hire a new coach to get the excitment rolling again for next season. |

I've been talking about gettin Brown here for years
(he's my fav player)
But do u really think there's any chance that the Cup champs trade their captain?
We'd prob have to offer Vanek for them to consider it,
And there's no way that's happening
Myers maybe?
But if we move him we have to get a defenseman back
Even though he's been bad, trading him puts us REALLY thin for next year... Our only other signed defensemen are Sekera & Ehrhoff |

From Adrian Dater on CNNSI:
I'm a Lindy Ruff fan, but honestly, you have to ask: Hasn't this guy overstayed his welcome? Nothing personal, but Buffalo's longtime coach doesn't seem able to light a fire under his players anymore. The Sabres play boneheaded, careless hockey too often, with major defensive breakdowns and little scoring from the bottom lines. Thomas Vanek --- leading the league with 19 points and on pace for 47 goals and 111 points -- can't do it all by himself. Buffalo's 33 goals-against is tied for most in the NHL. When does this team make a change behind the bench? Or does Ruff have the job for life? Last week: 1-2-1

There's no chance IMO that Ruff gets fired mid-season no matter what happens
If we miss the playoffs again,
I could see them moving Ruff into the front office
He probably deserves a spot in this organization somewhere
And with how much Pegula likes him & Regier respects him,
I see that as the most likely scenario |

I hope you are right. Firing him now would be pointless since mid season in a rushed season you wont have time to make a good choice anyway. |

well at least you guys have kept grig in the line up past 5games
matteau will play his 6th game tonight, replacing zubrus who is out with an upper body injury on the top line, so hoefully he will be a regular and dont completely waste the year on his contract |

Grigs is in way over his head and is almost completely ineffective. And he has only other completely innefective players skating with him. Its a bad situation. |

Wow, I didn't know he was being sat... That's dumb
How do u think Loktionov fits into all this?
Seemed like another forward he'll have to compete with to get on the ice
Not sure what the Devils are thinking here? |

I don't think he looks that bad
He's not producing offensively, but he's only a few games into his career... Let's give him some time... He's only playing 12min a night bc Lindy doesn't wanna put too much on his plate too soon... That will increase throughout the season, and we'll see more production out of him
Let's not judge him too quickly
Stamkos didn't get a point until his 7th or 8th game
Nugent-Hopkins hasn't scored a goal yet this year
Let's give the kid some time to grow |

I must say.. we can complain all we want on HockeyBuzz about how much we want Ruff to get fired... it doesn't mean anything... Pegula or Darcy don't care...
But when it is starting to get so much friction on major media and twitter.. those are the type of things that get to management. |

Im not knocking the individual. Grigs has a bright future. Im knocking the organization for putting the kid in a far less than ideal situation with a coach who ruins players on a joke of roster. He needs to play with better players to teach him the game and build his confidence, not destroy it. |

I dont think Sabres mgmt. is intimidated by social media let alone the regular media. In fact I dont think empty seats will really sway them. Its when season ticket holders stop renewing they will freak out. Darcy, Teddy and Terry keep referring to the season ticket base everytime people press them about their success (or lack thereof). |

I must admit that it is really frustrating watching him thrown to the wolves with the minutes he's getting and line mates as well. |

Hmm, I'm not sure how well you can measure a players effort. He seems to be more concerned with getting caught up in the offensive zone than digging hard on the forecheck and it looks to me as though he is trying probably too hard to feed other players the puck and that... |
