JT Miller, picked 15th overall a year later, has the same NHL goal total in 2 games as Nino, selected the year before. Took Miller 2 games...Nino, 64.

We get Bailey, Okposo and DeHaan with first rounders...they get Miller, Kreider, Del Zotto.

Would you trade our 3 for their 3? I would.

im agreeing...i said no one would dispute the rangers are run better than the islanders.

im not disputing that at all...BUT he was put in there for his physical presence and couldnt find a dance partner...CC needed to be in there.

not saying they would have won, but the kid deserves it.

The Rangers are a money making machine. The Islanders are the equivalent of the Charlestown Cheifs. Low budget, little flexability. One cannot be compared to the other until the Isles are in Brooklyn

Doesn't make sense... different drafts... you can't just pick their best draft picks and our worst...

I will take JT, Bailey, Nino and Strome over Miller, Kreider, McIlrath and Del Zotto!!!

really? I'll give you JT, but he's a first overall. Replace JT with Okposo and tell me with a straight face that you'd rather have our guys. I'm going by recent draft history...not draft for draft. I'm generalizing here. Not only do the Rangers attract high end free agents for obivous reasons, but they draft very well too. They do a hell of a job trading away their garbage and getting sweatheart deals in return...(see Gomez for McDonough.)

Bringing in Thomas shows how cheap Wang is.

I understand this move from Snow's position. He has to prevent the team from going under the cap and getting fined.

The next month or so will be a very telling time around this Islanders team.

Snow will have to make moves.

I hope Wang sells the team next year when they move to Brooklyn.

I'm glad he found them a new home... but he needs to move on!!!

- jimmc7722

Here we go again with this notion and once again he will prove you wrong, some of you will never learn. Expect Snow to do more of the same, nothing.

heyyyyyy!!!! we try not to think that far in advance. we live and die by short-sighted, knee jerk reaction.
- LetsGoIsles

OK, really? He's reaching the floor with a player who is not playing. That is not indicative of a big trade coming our way no matter how you Snow birds try to doll it up. It's disgraceful and shows these two morons don't have any real ambition to win, unreal.

Yep that is my point. Casey is a better fit on the third and with guys like Strome and Nelson on the way is Frans really a fit? Why not at least see what he can bring back if he has all this value?
- ses111

Casey COULD be good. Nielsen is a proven NHL two way center. Don't get ahead of yourselves with Cizikas yet. Give him some time before we put a label on him.

Understood Cptmjl. I just do not understand the firestorm caused with the idea of trading a 3rd line player like Frans. I did not say we should trade JT.

I hear you, Nielsen hasn't been playing well the last few but he's still IMO an excellent two way center for the third line. Not physical I hear your argument but still a very smart player. Our team as a whole isn't physical, there are other ways to address it. Just feel Nielsen should be the least of our concerns. All these waiver guys are crashing to earth(shocker, only a matter of time)when we dish these guys fill in the space with some decent, physical, bottom fwds. That's Snow job. Don't expect much. Contrary to popular belief he has to do nothing and probably will. I know it sucks to hear but reality is what it is.

I agree the Rangers right now seem to have done better drafting then we have. I would have drafted Cody Hodgson over Bailey...

It's not worth flipping out over a third line player. Do not worry Frans is not going anywhere.

No question Frans is not the biggest concern. Until trades start happening I will not believe it. All I know is I'll be very careful in saying guys should be traded in the future. I had no idea I was breaking up the dynasty team.

really...

a) his cap hit could protect the team from future deals involving players with contracts IE streit, reasoner, ko, nabby, nielson.

b) they could toll the contract and he could play next season; therefore making nabby expendable and tradeable.

will this happen? i dont know...but at least ill let it play out before i have a short-sighted outburst (cough*LV never wearing an islander jersey*cough)
