Everybody is 'on the market'. If the right offer is made there isn't an untouchable in the league.
And next time I ask a question I'll be sure to get your approval first! - paulr
Go ahead and waste your afternoon chasing down asking prices on Crosby and malkin. Let me know when you make your way through the phone book. |

Will it be the Yotes or the Jackets? That is the question.

Boyle or Brassard would be nice fits. Boyle would fit into our PP very well right at the top of the crease. Brassard gives us, a good, skilled young center and allows Bolland to play in the checking role again. |

No one was talking about Crosby or Malkin, though they too can be had if the price were right.
I never thought Gretzky would be traded. Wonder who wasted their afternoon looking through a phone book getting that deal done? |

Emery needs to show up like he did in Calgary, he was a beast. Also physicality is clearly going to need to show up or else we are going to pay the toll. Nothing that can't be said from the stats JJ posted though. |

I think we all agree on this
How to do it will be to package players, picks and prospects that the Avs need Simple to say but harder to do.
There will be other options out there once March arrives if we can't pry O'B away from the Avs
As for the money
You get what you pay for
I also like Brassard and Bozak
I also think Management will be making one big move at or just before the dealine
which because Goal Tending looks decent will be the Second Line Center not the Goalie we talked about after the first game against Phoinx - PEIHawkFan

Fantastic and lively discussion lads.
Would love to see Torres 'dealt' with, but would love the 2 points more. There will be a time and place for retribution, but it should not be in a game that looks like it could be tight (not loose ) throughout.
Torres, Kronwall, Desjardins all leveled devastating, dirty, bordering on dirty hits. But the solution for our team is simple. KEEP YOUR PHUCKIN' HEAD UP. |

I would love to see someone deal out Torres for us. Hate that guy |

We need to find away to acquire Ryan O'Rielly from the Aves..
Any ideas fellas? Sure, nobody wants to screw with team chemistry right now as the Hawks are clipping along, but it would solve the 2nd line Centre issue for the foreseeable future.
Of course the cap will be an issue this summer, but we would be well positioned for a long cup run this season.
In my eyes Option B is D. Brassard followed by T. Bozak.. - HawkFanInLeafLand
Wants 5 million per. Does not deserve it and Hawks cannot / will not pay it. |

Ok, here we go again with the pry O'reilly away from avs BS. Let me ask everyone a question. Lets say you are responsible for the personnel of this team.
While it appears most of you are sitting there with your wallets on fire, and can't wait to spend or deal, answer me this.
What injuries and needs will you have April 1? Are you willing to blow your nut right now on some idea that a team clicking and rolling right now, that you mess with that based upon some ideal vision you have of what your team needs to be....with the cost potentially that you will not have any ammo in April, when you actually man need it?
Tell me what your crystal ball says? Help me out. Lets go all in on our first night in vegas. Great idea.... |

I say Brookbank will be out there for Torres first shift and if there is going to be a scrap I think it will happen early and it will be Brookbank who will step up
Understand Torres will be waiting and ready for it
I hope we win and Torres gets his bell rung |

You mean the Boyle that has 4 career PP goals...
4 career goals. Seriously let that sink in. 4 Career PP goals. In 4 years. Like the whole time he has been in the NHL... Only 4... 4...
And the Brassard who scores at the same rate as Bolly and wins 44% of his draws. Really?
What crazy planet do you live on where that would be an improvement... Either player...
Some of you people need to come to the conclusion that playing in front of the net is a very difficult job. That is why a guy who skated meh, had meh hands and meh vision made a living for 15 years in Detroit. His name was Tomas Holmstrom.
If standing in front of the net potting goals was easy peasy then that man would have never ever had a job in the NHL. Ever.
Not even going to comment on Brassard. Stop living in a grass is greener fantasy land. The Hawks are the best team in the NHL right now for good reason. Their best players are their best players (exception Sharp) and the other guys are doing their job and doing their job well (especially Kruger and Frolik).
Wow. Get real. |

All good ponts you make
However
Two more road games and a then tough Home Stand ahead
Who knows how all this plays out after 20 games
Hawks have won a bunch of 1 goal games
UC does not guarantee wins it just quarantees the boys sleep at home and play in front of a packed house
All I know is O'Reilly is a player and a player any team would love to have so if he is not signed by the Avs he goes somewhere
Trading is not for the faint of heart and most trades are won by the team who gets the best player
Pretty simple

Think Q wants a more seasoned professional in the cauldron tonight. Bollig's a beauty, but he has picked some bad times to throw down.
As for Torres and scrapping ? Yes, McQuaid thumped him, but this is a kid who grew up with a bunch of older brothers that used to roughhouse him up pretty good. No pun intended, but the carrot top is SCRAPPY by nature. He had to be, growing up with older bros.
He's also a pretty good hockey player. That's why the Isles took him 5th OVERALL in the 2000 draft.
If he wasn't on Shanny's speed dial...he'd be a decent piece to add to our club. But in the end, probably not worth the headache when we already employ a character named Car Bomb.

Here is a great illustrative point. life has no guarantees! Yet in so many of your minds you think some trade or move will make one. Otherwise you would not obsess.
AT least we identified the core issue with many fans. They want assurances and guarantees. Oh my God we did not win 10 - 0 again. We are not good enough.
But if we make every team give us their star players, and then make our opponents play in roller skates, we should win every game. |
