- hallwillcrushu

Oh not one of there best games but I was answering to someone say the reffng was clearly slanted because of a missed close call. I wasn't complaining about the call. Bad call happen that's part of the human element that I like about the game most days.

You brought up the Dallas goal being offside so i figured we were discussing this game as well and reffng hasnt been good this year or the last few years reffng seems to be going down.

here is what id do... go try and get a center asap. Gaustad, Steckle, Moore, Konopka, Powe come to mind. Then i would get rid of hordichuk and replace him with a player like Brandon Mashinter who hits hard and puts points up in the AHL and is a willing fighter. I`d like to see him in the show.

Thank you, reffing overall seems to be inconsistant and b.s, but not just to the Oilers.
I work with Canuck, Hab and Leaf fans and they all female dog about how the refs hate their team the most. As I said on the last thread, the Oilers need to own the win and not hope or depend on a call or two.

It was a decent game. The Oilers need to learn how to finish. It should come soon, but not soon enough.

Sorry, but it is time to get over it. Can't always blame the refs, the Oilers actually sucked for the last few years.

They are still young and they will learn they are not bad this year they just seem to not be able to finish but at the start they seem to be battling till they end now little drop off but wll come around.

Exactly, and they are getting better. A little more work and it will come together and we can listen to the other teams fans female dog about the reffing screwing them.

I think every fan for every team says it. If we could have got those five bounces we could have killed the other team

I am not at all worried about it yet. The injuries are alarming, but the overall play is what I was expecting. It is a young team and there are going to be growing pains. If the team is sniffing playoffs with 5-10 game left in the season I am happy. They have been competitive in every game but the SJ game and at least fought a bit to make it more reasonable.

Oilers should try hallsy at centre. Although a small sample size, he has shown an ability to win draws. He back checks, notably he helped control a 2 on 1 by blocking the lane and covering the player.

Can we sign Rieder? He looked good in the Juniors. Currently 39 points in 39 games. Leading the Kitchner Rangers of the OHL (if my google search is correct). 20 goals, +9. He has to be the next option. He is 20 already, it is not like waiting is going to make him any better. He had 84 points in 60 games last year. 42 g and 42 a. Currently with 5 game winners and 2 short handed. He is said to have top end talent but with RNH size. He does however play a big defensive role with speed.

He plays Center and Left wing and I can't find any where that shows his F% but it wouldn't matter because NHL would be entirely different. IMO he is a wild card but has the potential to be a top 6 player. He might also be a complete bust but the kid has talent, it is just whether it translates to the NHL is the question.

Still has to be a better choice than Arnott. I am not against Connolly. However I think Colorado thinks O'Reilly is better than he is and I think he is good because of Gabriel. He is good but and worth a first round and Paajarvi but they won't think so. I would think we were over paying for a player that has had one good year. Especially when adding a center still leaves us with other holes. Such as the other 2 missing centers, a back up goalie and a real shut down dman. Or our dmen to rise to the occasion. Still a back up needs to be addressed. No use trying for a playoff run with one untested goalie. Better to be on the outside and draft a good center.

I love smyth but he looks his age out there lol. He should be mentoring Harti on how to take the puck to the net and score some dirty goals. I feel like Harti can be our franzen or holmstrom to some extent. I'd like to see this:

Hemsky-rnh-yak we need to get nuge going.

Harti-hall-ebs

Then again it's not really fair to bump gags considering how he's playing but it's worth giving hall a shot at centre. Dallas did it with Benn.

There's two problems I can see with the Oilers acquiring O'Reilly. First is, the price. The Avs will want a 1st+ and that's lots for a player who's holding out after having only one really good season and wanting $5mil per over a long-term deal.

2nd problem is, what happens when Nuge is back? O'Reilly is a Top 6 center. Nuge is a Top 6 center, and Gagner is the best player on the whole team this season so far. So who plays on the 3rd line? O'Reilly likely doesn't want to be a 3rd line center, and he'd be an awfully expensive guy to have there.
