9th is better than 15th in the east to see a gradual improvement would be a good thing not a bad one. You shouldn't hope for a last place finish to get a better draft pick. That is one thing I agreed with BB on. Its a loser mentality to think that way and things won't change in TO with that PI%$ poor attitude like that. - thundachunk
You just don't want us getting McKinnon. |

Tangradi sucks but getting Depres would be great. He's somebody the Pens likely wouldn't want to part with though. - AdamFrench
Pittsburgh won't be parting with Despres for Kulemin, nor Brandon Sutter. Let's think about things for a second ... if Rutherford didn't make Brandon Sutter available in the Jordan Staal deal, Staal is either a Ranger or still a Penguin. He was insistent on Sutter. He is pretty close to untouchable with that.
Despres has a high ceiling that shouldn't be moved unless a major player is coming back. Also, he is playing top D pairing with Letang and looks very very comfortable. Despres ain't happening either. Neither player is worth being moved for Kulemin.

EDM can prob use Steckel as a rental now. Injury plague hit the past couple games. - deks1
No effing way.
Steckel is an integral part of the Leafs' rebuilding. The guy is awesome.
If you want him on your team (and who wouldn't???), you are going to have to give up a lot.
Make that a ton.
No used puck bag - it's going to still have to have the price tag on it. |

I'd start by asking for Orpik, pretty sure Pitts needs all the NHL ready d they have for the playoffs though. |

There are glass half empty people and glass half full people. You will find some of us have positive attitudes as well opinions and arguments that are valid. Except when it comes to are team then bias gets in the way of logic. - thundachunk
That's what I've always found weird about Vancouver fans: there is a percentage that tends to over-value your players.
Leafs fans would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever do that. |

Depends on the faith they have in Morrow and Harrington (Pouliot being a few years away and a different kind of defender). Admittedly regardless it is more of an off-season move. Pens can hardly part with any roster D at this point.
Also nobody would ever hate on Kulemin if he was Nick Coleman. |

Kessel would be an amazing fit in Pittsburg.
The penguins have real good talent in their system. Everyone needs more D and the Pens are well stocked. Take the best players available in their system and move them or similar players in other deals. - spatso

Special teams are going to look even worse when the number of PP's (50) to PK's (32) begin to balance out. That's almost 4 extra minutes a game with a man advantage. |

Dream on.
So many guys on this site bite on leaf fans for overvaluing prospects, but this is exactly the same BS we get chomped for saying. |

Kulemin for Harrington/Morrow and a 2013 2nd
Gives another roster spot to battle for, another stud dman and a 2nd rounder which is always fun.
EDIT:
It also keeps with the rebuild or whatever it is that we're doing.
- Unholy_Forward
It was reported Burke turned down a first rounder for Kuli last season.
Doubt Pitts would offer a solid prospect and a 2nd. |

We're going to end up a 9th place team in the east with lousy draft pick. Lather, rinse, repeat. - tmlfan69
and just outside of the Top 10, which by all accounts in this years draft, are all can't miss players.... Mckinnon, Drouin, Jones, Barkov, Monahan, Lindholm, Nichushkin, Morrissey, Domi(how awesome would that be) Sigh**** Even though every non-playoff team has a chance to get to No.1 now, you know it won't fall into our lap though. It we didn't bad luck, we would have no luck at all. |

I wouldn't do a 1st straight up for Kule either.
It's hard to determine his value, that's for sure. |

Closer to the deadline, "hopefully" if we are far away from playoffs, we can have a firesale of guys like steckel, bozak, macarthur, maybe kulemin, franson and get maximum value for these guys and draft hard in 2013 draft, alot of those guys can get some late first rounders in there or double the deal up to get a better first rounder. Deadline is where teams will overpay |

Mike Augello: Not-So Special Teams; The Annual Kulemin Rumor - mikeinbuffalo
If the deal is Derrick Pouliot and Olli Maatta for Kulemin, you do it immediately. It doesn't matter that they have some defenders in the system. Defenders in Toronto go from superstar to worthless in a matter of a year. If this team wants any hope of future success, they need a fearsome backend and both Derrick Pouliot and Olli Maatta are excellent defensive prospects to have for Kulemin. |

Derrick Pouliot i would do in a second. Even if we had to add a bit more but not a substantial amount. Olli Maatta im not too big on but if the pens added, i would do the deal. You are 100 percent right, it DOES NOT MATTER how many defenders we have in our system, the more the better, and even if they develop we could always trade them down the line. Pouliot would be a great addition for us, especially him and rielly If we had to add for him id do it but not anything big
Edit: If Nonis was approached by the pens about kulemin, his main target should be Pouliot and to make a deal of that with him in it. Thats about it |

Yeah that's so true.
Rielly, Percy, Blacker, Holzer and Finn are already busts. |
