Under a head coach who isn't completely lost and unprepared for head coaching duties. Adam Oates isn't the right guy for that job. He's in over his head and it's only making it worse for Ovechkin.

Lindback isn't anywhere near as good as Kiprusoff, especially if Tampa Bay wants a shot at making a deep playoff run.

You're missing the point. Its fine to talk tank and all that if the team is near the bottom of the league and has no hope for the season. Considering we aren't at that point yet, the goal should be making the playoffs.

That said, if you're of the opinion that this team's core isn't able to get it done long term, then why not discuss potentially disbanding part of this group to build for the future? Isn't that legit?

Its the second youngest team in the league. If you dont like the core, fine. But that is not the same as tanking. This team is already being built for the future and isn't in a rush to make it all happen now. So I dont see the issue and need to talk tank day in and day out.
