Ok I won't. I read the comments last night and today and not 1 person has even made mention of this...

Why does nobody have a problem with Giroux taking a shot at the empty net last night, when he had the entire right side of the ice to skate the puck up to the red line? I have a feeling more people would be talking about that if TB tied the game after that icing.

Good point. I don't know if it's worth arguing over but meh.

And who was sent to Anaheim in this trade? Knuble?
- BulliesPhan87

Depends if Anaheim stays up in the standings. I would give up one or two first rounders for the right player - Laughton if need be.

Ok, can we get back to something more important?
Like my completely self fabricated trade for ryan whitney?
Can I be a hockey columnist if it comes true?

Anaheim will want more than a couple 1sts and a guy who projects to be a 3rd or 4th line defensive center for a former MVP and a 30+ goal scorer.

what was with the all-out McGinn PR assualt yesterday? Articles about him in the Inqy and CSN, several interviews with G and Briere about him before and during the game, plus more mentions of him by the Flyer's announcers. The kid is doing a nice job, but that was just ridiculous.

You don't need it to come true to be a hockey columnist.

To be clear, I just said on of the Anaheim forwards. And some are free agents.

Yeah the media is really high on him. He's played well, certainly above expectations, but you'd think he was a top prospect making his debut. I like McGinn a lot or at least what I've seen from him but this isn't a guy who's going to turn into a 40 goal scorer.

Oh I thought you were referring to the deadline and not the offseason. If we're lucky we can pry Matt Belesky from them!

If you're right than I would say he was either mentally tired, not aware, or still has a little cowboy in his game. I would guess the last one.
- Daman

Yes fatigue certainly good have been the reason. I don't know how long he was out there for, all i know is he had one stationary man to beat and had the entire half of the ice open to do so.

No harm no foul. Just thought somebody would have said something about it.

Haven't you noticed they have a media scrum every day and there are a limited number of questions and answers. The reporters all get the same quotes and so who ever drives the scrum drives the days story lines. Rarely does a reporter track down a different player or attempt to change the story from player to player because if it gets off track then there aren't enough quotes to file their story. Happens every day after an off day. Days after games are different. More player availability. They still scrum for quotes.

It amazes me how they all have recorders but the quotes read differently in each story.

As a non-gamer I'm not familiar with that term. I'll assume it comes from the pronunciation of NHL, yes?

I honestly think he was trying to make a die before the line, but it just had too much on it. I can't speak for his intentions, since I'm not him... but he's never been known to do something as selfish as that... he's even been known to hold the puck, and even pass it off to a teammate for the empty netter. So while possible, I find it highly unlikely that he just wanted a goal. He took the puck, but was still being pressed, so he tried to clear it out. Unfortunately it missed the goal, and went too far.

Just my opinion...

w/ him back

Harts G Anaheim Winger of Choice
Schenn Briere Simmonds
Read Coots Voracek

4th line crap. BTW, as I've posted here many times, I am a fan of Rinaldo and yesterday shows why.

The above assumes that we get near an 8 seed, depending on injuries.

People are down on Schenn but IMO you got to ride him through ups and downs.

- Daman

A 4th line of Fedetenko, Talbott and Rinaldo isn't crap.
