NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Been there and done that. I was so happy when we got rid of him. Although honestly, I think he brings as much to the table as Streit.

I liked Streit on the Habs and I thought the Isles overpaid at the time. He's good, but not great. MAB has the best shot I have ever seen on the PP from a guy that small.

i like to visit for old farm once in a while.

i think reaction to last two games a bit too overwrought. first 6 were nice, but PK/PP was doomed to fall to earth. Real key...and Dee, ask Garth on this... besides sending him my love... is the 5 on 5. Its still lagging, and did during those first 6 gms too. must get better.

It would have been better with PAP... just sayin

i've spoken to people on Okposo who still think reaction on him is a bit over the top. He is not a puckfeeder, so might not have been best choice on line 1 (personally I'd like to see Bailey there, not Boyes. Boyes more positional and can score).

Okposo more a power forward, grinder/dig out puck. But i don't think he's with right linemates to do that. I don't think he's a top liner, per say. I personally think his game would work better with Frans on line 3 (or with Brock Nelson next season).

this all said, I do think some vets (Okposo, Streit, Frans) fair game via trade this season. Too many kids/talent coming up. I think there is a list of those expendable, just like there was one when Garth was fishing for Guerin and Ryan Smyth... and then got Smyth that yr. I think he would like to be a buyer.

- B.D. Gallof

Ive been saying this since he played the wing with Schremp & played it very well.

Any 5-on-5 issues are on defense, not offense. PA was a standout defensive forward now? On offense, the team is 7th in the league in 5-on-5 goals for, having played one fewer game than four of the teams above them. Actually they increased their ranking there since before yesterday's game (8th yesterday).

Gotta love how he allows good talent to walk but won't trade an f'in prospect because he's afraid to "give up" on one of HIS draft picks. Hello Garth, they CAN'T ALL make the team one day. Use your assets to improve the team instead of rolling the dice on waiver wire yard-sales.

Stop with the panic. Isles were 0-7 on pp and were down by one goal.

Any team that gets 7 pp and doesn't score is likely to lose. Whether they have ko on it or not. Ko didn't lose the game. Going 0-7 lost the game. Biggest reason why they havent scored in last 14 attempts is they stopped moving. They are are standing still. Go back and watch the pp vs devils vs jersey on thurs if you don't understand.

You guys have problems with ko. My problem is putting a guy ahler like McDonald and reasoner on ice when you down a goal. Why. B/c both cant scored.

Isles outplayed the pens and lost. Nabby let in 2 softies and flurry avenged his loss. That's why we lost. I felt we were better team vs devils too.

We are still in 3rd place. Now focus on beating they blue skirts. One game at a time.
I won't be easy. Rangers going to bring it too. Tomorrow nights game is going to be incredible.

BD, wasn't one of the reasons Bergeron was traded from the Isles because he had a falling out with the Islanders power play coach?

Parenteau has 7 goals and 2 assists in 9 games this year with the avs. He has more goals then okposo has points. Nice job by letting him go garth, you idiot.

I feel like I'm usually pretty quick to jump on the team when it plays bad, but I didn't think they were bad at all last night. I don't think it can be denied that the other team's goalie had a better game than ours did. To me, that equals a one-goal loss (EN goal at the end notwithstanding). I know...it was the goalie against NJ and now it's the goalie again against Pitt? I say yes, it was. They both had very good games...it's not like they were just blocking shots into their chests all night. Fleury came across the net like I've never seen to make stops twice last night. That's the game, imo. Were they perfect? Heck no, but neither was Pitt. If they don't get too down, they can still do some damage. I'll put it this way...if Nabby played like Fleury did last night and the Isles won 2-1 playing the same exact game they did, we'd all be on cloud 9 today. They really weren't all that bad.
- UIF

Isles got a quick whistle against them that cost them a tying 1st period goal as well. I agree with this. Nabby needs to be a bit better though. And obviously the power play does as well.

You don't get 14 power plays in two games if you aren't skating hard

MAB is one of the worst defensemen I have ever seen. He's great if you have the luxury of having five who can cover the defensive duties for the entire game, while he rides the pine until the power play starts, but defensively, he is one rung on the ladder below useless. He does have a rocket shot, though.

It would be better with Scott Stevens and Denis Potvin. That would actually help. Parenteau isn't going to help the part of the five on five that is the problem, which is in their own end of the ice. It would also help if they didn't play even strength as if they were on the power play, and instead maybe played....defense, for example. There's a certain team who plays in this area that always seems to be good, and they know how to play defense....and have for almost 20 years now. Maybe we need to learn something from what they do...

Potvin and Stevens would be suspended every game for checking too hard. That's the new NHL. I bet Stevens was beside himself when he saw that nice hit by strait on gionta get called a penalty.

Missing pap is not reason why isles lost last two games. So maybe snow was wrong about pap. But I don't see anyone asking for Jason Blake, campoli, or Comrie back.
Boyes has been plenty good replacement for pa. Maybe he doesn't have 7 goals but boyes has 2 game winners.

MAB is worst defender. Hence why he has been on so many teams.

I went to the game last Tuesday with my buddies. It was an interesting game. I felt that Islanders had many opportunities to score but unfortunately they couldn't find the net. However, I felt that no matter how they performed this year so far, I felt that there is a major improvement over last five years. I don't think John Tavares is a finisher. He is a player who likes to pass first then score. I feel that he prefers to score when it comes to power plays but other in hand, he would score anytime if there is an open net. For Okposo, I just can't bear to watch him anymore. He has the speed and hands but he just can't hold on to the puck every frigging time he enters into the offensive zone. If he could hold on then he could be an all star caliber as we always thought of when he was drafted by us. For Boyes, I have to admit that I like what I see from him. I don't know why but I like him over Parentau. Sure, Parentau got 9 points and 7 goals. Big Whoopie, he probably shoots more than others on the team. I hope Boyes will be resigned at a reasonable price for next few years. However back to Okposo, he should be traded to a team for a prospect or two or a defenseman.

For next few games and next year it should look like this
If Bailey and Okposo is traded to another team...

1) Moulson, Tavares and Nino
2) Grabner Nielsen, Nelson
3) Ullstrom, Cizkas and Boyes
4) Martin Aucoin Mcdonald

1) Hamonic/Macdonald
2) Streit/ Strait
3) Visnoysky/Hickey
2)

No one is asking for Blake (other then Dee) Campoli or Comrie because no one wanted them when they were here to begin with. The ONLY comparison you can make between Blake & PAP is that they were assets that SHOULD have been traded for something. Atleast Campoli & Comrie got us a 1st rounder.
