All kidding aside NY'ers are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We are all just "honest"....

Oh, now I get the confusion. It's apparently if someone defends themsleves they are crying. No wonder you think certain players on the pens do that, they lead and make comments when they are appropriate.
- ChrisMS

So Crosby behind the net looking like he got shot in the chest by a 44 when a player wasn't with in 5 feet of him was warranted yesterday? OR what always makes it worse with him is the never ending whining to the ref for the 20 mins following? It takes away from how great a player he really is. I get it, he lived with Papa Mario for a while and learned from the biggest whiner in the league but I gather from your posts that was before you were born so no harm no foul there brah(you writing this before kind of eludes to which class of people you're part of)?

sure did. I have moved on, I never cried, I accept it, deal with it and own it. Kind of like stepping over a turd in the sidewalk, crinkling your nose, and then keep on going. But what keeps me interested was the bum that was interested in that turd and even proud of it. The turd doesn't still have me shaking my head, its that person with the pride in that turd.
- ChrisMS

ahhh...allow me to add your place in this analogy; you're the fat annoying girl that reminds everyone of the insignificant time when someone smelled/stepped over/crinkled their nose to the turd, when in fact no one really cares about that.

like i said...get over it.

Oh I know you were'nt. Most people who say NY'ers are rude have never been here OR they are used to the phony "southern hospitality" routine that southerners BS each other with. All that means is they prefer to talk behind each others back and make pretend they like each other.

Hmm...I must have missed the part after the Johnson/DiPietro fight where all the Penguins fans joined hands and offered up prayers for DiPietro's health when he was injured and bloody on their ice. They must have though, in between their cheering and laughter, or their fans, blogger, and announce team wouldn't be acting like they're higher-class citizens today...

According to our visitor from the Pens blog today they are higher class citizens that use the term "brah" and chant kume by yah my lord whenever an opposing teams player is injured. He himself tryed to leap over the glass with an ice pack for DP's eye when Johnston lit him up but the line was too long with everyone trying to give their chocolates and flowers all for DP's well being. This guy also has it figured out on how to get Wang to spend money, we should all pay attention as well as Snow.

[quote=Cptmjl]This is one of the more whinier posts I've read from a Penguins fan, congrats. As for the last sentence you say "steer clear to make the team better" and every other sports fan in the country calls it being a "band wagon fan" besides Penguins fans of course but hey, you guys must be right. You even lose better than everyone else.
- ChrisMS[/quote

wasn't funny the first time. big difference between band wagon fan and that. I watched those losing seasons religiously on tv, but I sure wasn't parking my ass in the seat until the owners started icing a team that was worth paying to go see... and many poeople around pittsburgh felt the same way

Are you bashing on Sidney??

Fleury??

sorry man... I must have really hit some sore spots with you today. Guess I'll just slink off in defeat ... I certainly can't defeat the logic of someone who can put being hit by a puck in the face in the comparisson to someone who challenged another person and lost. (and by the way, I cheered the win by johnson, not the injury)

anyone notice crosby after he took the puck to the nose try and go to the ref after the Isles scored and show his bleeding nose like it was recent. Get stuffed you (frank)ing clown Crosby. The reason I hate him is because he's got all the skill in the world yet feels the need to whine like a female dog every time something doesn't go perfectly his way. If JT acted like that I'd be pissed off at him too, but he doesn't. No class vs class, take notes sidney.
- Isles_since_6

Exactly. Best player in the world or not he doesn't embody what a hockey player is as far as I'm concerned. Just like whiner Mario and a lot of their fans(sorry canadianpenfan) as we once again witnessed today. I agree if JT was a whiner like Crosby I wouldn't like the guy good player or not. I hated gretzky for it. Just stfu up and play

Strange, I remember Penguins fans cheering after Darius Kasparitis left Eric Lindros motionless at center ice during the playoffs in 1998. That was a far scarier moment than Crosby's puck to the mouth. Yet the Pens laughed on the bench as the trainers struggled to get Lindros up and the crowd happily cheered.

It happens EVERYWHERE. Remember Chara getting nailed by a puck in Montreal a few years ago?

No big deal.

Mario had reason to whine. The guy had multiple back surgeries due to players hanging off his neck like Supermans cape. Crosby gets targeted a ton and sometimes he has the right to complain. Still, fans have a silver spoon complex for him and love to see him get beat down. Ultimately it should make him a better leader if he just focuses on the game rather than the officials.

He's (Mario) still the greatest player to ever skate in the NHL in my opinion. God on skates. That said, I wish to God I could find a buyer for the Gretzky Sports autographed jersey I have from him

Edit....yes that's as much of an advertisement as it is a comment.

Soon everyone will see what we see buddy.

Seriously though, Crosby whining/diving/moaning/grumbling/stealing/beating up little kids is all so blown out of proportion.

My one Mario jersey doesn't even come past my gut anymore, my other fits fine. But...signed you say? How much?

Yep, signed. I have a few things signed by him but the Jersey was the big one. It's certified by Gretzky Sports (black authentic jersey). It's actually framed in a big cherry wood jersey frame with the Pens emlbem engraved on the glass. Pretty cool. He was one of the few non Islanders I collected memoribilla of.

As for how much....wow..I have a funny feeling shipping to Calgary would be a deal breaker!

Agree 1000% if he could have stayed healthy or if he had the supporting cast around him that Grez had in Edmonton.... he would own every damn record.

Can't argue with that. But he doesn't do it anymore than any other star player in this league. He used to no doubt, but not any more.

I remember watching video of him in juniors just before he was drafted and thinking this was hockey's biggest leap...like going from the pre 1969 music scene to Led Zeppelin.
To this day I think he's the most elegant athelete I ever saw. Everything about his game was perfection and yet he did it during stretches where he couldn't even tie his own skates due to back pain.
