I was so supportive of the isles and rooted for them to stay in Long Island. But the display last night was so pathetic it made me realize that true hockey fans are just so rare in Long Island the place deserves to lose their team. Cheering a player getting hit in the face with puck was so pathetic. so hip hip hooray for the team leaving for hopefully greener pastures

We have a 25 year lease in Brooklyn so if you consider that greener pasture thanks

I feel like I'm usually pretty quick to jump on the team when it plays bad, but I didn't think they were bad at all last night. I don't think it can be denied that the other team's goalie had a better game than ours did. To me, that equals a one-goal loss (EN goal at the end notwithstanding). I know...it was the goalie against NJ and now it's the goalie again against Pitt? I say yes, it was. They both had very good games...it's not like they were just blocking shots into their chests all night. Fleury came across the net like I've never seen to make stops twice last night. That's the game, imo. Were they perfect? Heck no, but neither was Pitt. If they don't get too down, they can still do some damage. I'll put it this way...if Nabby played like Fleury did last night and the Isles won 2-1 playing the same exact game they did, we'd all be on cloud 9 today. They really weren't all that bad.

They weren't horrible but they certainly weren't good. Definitely not good enough to win the game and thats what matters. They were 0 for 7 on the PP for the second game in a row. They didn't show up really till the third period on home ice, that's not playing good no matter how you slice it.

Let's face it with all the new players, the first few games caught alot of teams who didn't know how to play us so we caught them with Aucoin's line etc.

Last four games, NJD 1-1, PITT 1-1 or neither of those teams were going to be unprepared for the rematch after the Isles beat them.

Capuano was very positive after the game and I agree that the team has to deal with being in the game every night, win or lose.

Also caught the NJD-NYR game and shows how NYR are having trouble finding their game. especially since they also added alot of new faces.

There are no real pushover teams, Tampa blew away WIN 8-3 Friday but struggled Saturday against NYR and lost in PHA last night, so expect a tough challenge every game.

When is he not? Last year we lost to the Devils 6-1(I believe that was the score)in the post game interview Capuano said he saw some good things but the one thing that stood out to him was the great defensive effort from his team. Once again that's after losing 6-1 to the Devils. The guy is a moron.

When the power play clicks, people complain about how they play 5-on-5 and say you can't rely on special teams. When they play good 5-on-5, people complain that the power play didn't click. Some nights the PP will go 3/5, some nights it won't. Not thrilled with the PP last night...down low they were really good. Up high, not so much. Vis should hopefully help there...that's supposed to be his bread and butter, right? They had point-blank chances in the second though that were at least as good as the one Grabner finally put home in the third, so I don't agree that they didn't show up until the third. They just couldn't beat Fleury until the third.

I'll agree to disagree on this one. I thought they were flat for the first period. They do that far too often, you'll never be a good team coming out flat consistently. Got a penalty gave up a lame PP goal 6 seconds later. I know PP's don't deliver every night, it's not my first time at the rodeo. They to me didn't play well, there were plenty of missed opportunities, bad passing, shots wide, typical Islanders hockey. To say MAF was playing lights out is taking away from what really happened, the guy made a couple great saves I'm not denying it but he didn't win that game as much as the Islanders lost it. The better team won, along with the better goalie.
