All depends on what Getzlaf does. If Getzlaf gets traded or leaves ANA, then Holland will mean alot to ANA towards the future, even though I think Gagner would fit well there. Get to play some with ex-Oilers.
DET is interested in Whitney since their defensive dept is beaten by injuries. I say toss them Omark too since Zetterberg and Brunner did so well with him in Europe. Hemsky is probably also a good fit in DET. - deks1
Ya Detroit may be a good trading partner but who do they have that would help us? They have Brendan smith but I think he's key in their lineup and would be difficult to get without sending back a key defensive prospect back as well. I'd look at Riley sheahan personally. But would probably have to send pitlick omark and a 2nd.
Edit: haha that trade scenario I threw out may be a bit of an overpayment. Hard to gauge value of other teams prospects. |

I don't know is it fair to rank Sheahan and Pitlick in the same level. They are drafted in the same year, just 1st round and 2nd round respectively. Omark has tiny to little value, maybe Zetterberg and Brunner will put in a bit of input to DET Holland as to their chemistry, but I wouldn't throw in a 2nd round pick. Maybe another mid grade prospect or later pick. |

just read a stat that says the oil are giving up the most shots in the league. 40 ahead of the next closest team.
dubnyks been solid and held us in a few games, even a few that we lost probably coulda been worse.
this defence is gaffe prone, relatively inexperienced and just not deep enough. its better thanit has been in the past, but it was one of the worst in the league, so their really wasnt anywhere else to go but up.
our top 6 forwards are pretty weak defensively, small, easy to push off the puck and fairly predictable. our faceoffs are terrible so we're playing alot without possession of the puck. which is absolutely vital to our success.
unless our top line starts tearing it up, this season could go south in a hurry. especially now with horcs and belanger out
ive been ok with the patience from tambs, but its time he makes a move.
and i dont mean of the foster, vandermeer, sutton, fistric variety.
a big move thats gonna be really felt in this lineup
size in top 6, preferably at 2C and/or a top 4 defender. we need one of these badly |

Holy (frank) can you say panic?
Yes the Oilers lost 3 games this week but 2 were in overtime.
Yes Horcoff could be gone for 6 weeks and according to Kruger
Belanger is gone for a week with a sliced foot.
Move Belanger to third and keep Lander up until Horcoff is ready.
By the way to the Canuck fans and the Flames fans. Wow quiet all week
now your beaking us. LOL talk about Epic fails.
Calgary has 2 wins half as many as Edmonton.
Vancouver has played Edmonton what twice and Edmonton has taken1 in a S/O and Vanc has taken one in OT. Yes the very same former presidents cup winning Canucks.
This week will be the tough week that is all unless Belanger can't be ready in a week. |

oh my. Comparing Gagner to Logan Couture.
An oddball fluke 8 point game last year, and he still couldn't hit 50 points. Maybe you should wait more than 10 games before you start thinking Gagner is any good.
He still sucks. |

Instead of always thinking we need different dmen, how about the whole team commit to playing better defense? |

You're right, if it wasn't for getting points in all of the games this year, he would have none. You really should correct the spelling in your name. |

What? That makes zero sense. If you would like to try to re-read, I referred to last year. |

Take away all his zero point nights, one point nights and multi-point nights and you have a player that appears to not have played all year. |

Terrble comparison obviously, but seriously the mention of Gagner is like the bat symbol to you.
With the exception of that one guy, no one else believes he's better than Couture, and has said as much. |

No you didn't. You argued that the Oilers are pushovers, and that a team that's won back to back presidents trophies has been better in recent matchups than the last-placed team in the league.
a) nothing new. enjoy it for now.
b) it doesn't refute the fact that the canucks are pushovers. |

gotta be consistent.
like I say, it's a short stretch. I bet he still doesn't hit 50 points this year.
And I would say the same of some Leafs. |

He's at a 53 point pace right now, but I'd bet Ovechkin doesn't hit 50 points as of now.
Well you did say of Kadri that he was carrying the team, and I gotta say Gagner has at least been a pleasant surprise of the same variety.
With all respect for Gags, the absence of Belanger and Horcoff has exposed his persistent short-comings in the FO circle, which he'll have to improve. Really, if him and Nuge don't get to at least 45% each, the season will be done by the time Horcoff comes back from injury. |

Yeah, I didn't mean 50 points, I mean what would be 50 points over a full season. So, 32 points or whatever?
And yeah, the rest of Gagner's game is still just terrible.
Kadri and Frattin have been a huge part of carrying the team, in Kessel's slump. But, much like Gagner, I don't expect Kadri to continue being a point per game guy. I'd be surprised if he hits 32 points too, and he's obviously a lot better than Gagner. I doubt Frattin hits 20 goals either, despite him being on pace for more. |
