Islanders have lots of offensive weapons and may prefer a defensive prospect for Nelson. Would klefbom for Nelson be fair? Klefboms development may become hampered with injuries. Then again I constantly hear good things about him. Something to consider. Nelson might be closer to NHL ready then klefbom as well since klefbom will have to adjust to the North American game.
I also like the paajarvi and Eller swap mentioned earlier. - ystoil
I think NYI needs more help on the wing. They have some d-man prospects coming along just like EDM. I am not sure does EDM have alot of depth on wing in OKC to trade. |

I would take that trade. Makes sense from both sides. Oil get a big C (don't need to get rid of Gags, just put him on the wing and rid of hem sky), NYI get an A quality D prospect who might step in next year.
Although Klefbom might be worth a bit more. I'd take Nelson +a little or Bjugstad straight up. |

FLA fans suggested Ellerby for PRV. NYI definitely won't care for Gagner. Tavares, Strome, Neilsen, and Nelson got that top 2C held down. |

I don't know why the Oilers would buy out Horcoff. They're cap situation is sitting in a decent spot next year. And in two years they have only like 20 mil committed.

I would also love Bjugstad. But I think he'd be tough to get. Is he signed or maybe we wait and snag him like Schultz |

I think teams are watching their assets very carefully now after the Schultz drama. Always find a way to make sure they retain their prospects. ANA had a chance to trade Schultz, they chose not to. |

Colin Wilson out of Nashville would be an interesting option. Not for klefbom but maybe another deal. |

I actually think NSH is a team that can use Gagner. I wouldn't deal Gagner for Wilson, especially how is Gagner is doing right now. NSH is lacking top six forwards big time. |

Not suggesting trading Gags. Keep Gags around and play him as 2LW. |

Mentioned that one a while back. He's got size, is solid on the dot, has solid offensive potential, maintains a solid two-way game, and he fits in age wise. He shouldn't cost too much either considering his lack of any sort of breakout as of yet. I think a package including Paajarvi- another prospect that hasn't had too much success- and a pick. Paajarvi could fit into Trotz's system quite well, too. I wish Nashville fans existed. Then we could get their opinion on this deal |

But he's had trouble on the wing in the past. I'm with you that we ought to keep him, but we don't know how he'd fare. If a deal like that plays out, I say we play Gagner at center, but have Wilson take the faceoffs. Kinda like what Dallas did when they played Ott and Benn together last year. |

I just don't know how fans feel about trading PRV. PRV-Lander-Teemu line could possibly be a future line for EDM. |

Yeah, I agree with you. Gagner just fits the C position better than being on the wing. Putting him on the wing can negatively affect his value. I would do what you suggested and play him if he's in EDM long term plans and build his value for future deals. |

Yeah, they looked great last game and during their time in OKC. I think playing with Hartikainen brings out the best in Paajarvi. |

Klefbom is not going anywhere. Atlesst not in a deal for a 3c, albeit one with very high potential. If that means we cant get nelson, then so be it. I think oilers would consider marincin and a 2nd. Not sure how islanders would feel about that. |

Ya I always felt Wilson had some untapped offense playing under trots. However trotz is grooming a solid two way player that we could take advantage of. Granted Nashville needs scoring forwards, I agree paajarvi would fit well there.
How high are the ducks on Peter holland? There are options for tambo he's just got to pick up the phone and make the decisions a gm is hired to do (if he hasn't been calling already) |

All depends on what Getzlaf does. If Getzlaf gets traded or leaves ANA, then Holland will mean alot to ANA towards the future, even though I think Gagner would fit well there. Get to play some with ex-Oilers.
DET is interested in Whitney since their defensive dept is beaten by injuries. I say toss them Omark too since Zetterberg and Brunner did so well with him in Europe. Hemsky is probably also a good fit in DET. |
