Did he break the knuckle diving like the rest of the Oilers last night?
Potter, Yakupov, Eberle and Hall dove or embellished plays last night. It's amazing how fans say Canucks players dive (which they do) and act like their players are saints. - dshiddy
Q: Why do stereotypes exist
A: Because they are true
So it's your fault! YOU are one of them...lol It's dipsh1ts like you that give the Canucks organization a bad name over the past couple of years. I lived in Van for years and the team has come so far since then. I wish I could say the same for the fans.
What an absolutely arbitrary, antagonizing, and downright stupid comment. There is a reason that the Canucks have become the NHL's most hated team (and not too well regarded accross other sports fans too). It's people like you. You do not do your team justice whatsoever with remarks like that. They have worked hard to become an ACTUAL NHL TEAM rather than just a venue for westerners to go to the PNE Colliseum to watch THE OTHER TEAM. I was there, it's true.
Big yappers like yours are the cause of Canadians cheering for the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup!!! Are you kidding? How horrible does a city's fans have to be to cause THAT?

Even if he is an 18 year old russian with an attitude, Yakupov is easily a top 10 player on your team. He's basically rescinded Gagner's career in this first month alone

Canucks are the dirtiest team in the NHL. - vancity787
they're the chipiest and the CHIRPiest. Dirtiest would imply some sort of strength or aggression. The Canucks are perhaps the least feared team in the league. They are pushovers.
I agree. This isn't the juncture to look for a Horcoff replacement, or a Belanger replacement or a future 3rd line centre. This is a process of getting through the week without Belanger and then the 3 more weeks without Horcoff while staying in the win column.
A 525,000 contract for a guy that can play 12 minutes a night and take a couple faceoffs for a month. - Morris
I think it's probably a better idea to deal for something big during the off season. For the moment, Eller, Nokelainen, Bozak, or Steckel would be good options that won't cost arm and leg to obtain.
" Ok, if we finish last this year, we take Jones but we can't play him because there is an upside of sucking in 2013-2014 because we can get Sam Rienhart. Well if we get Rienhart, might as well tank "as planned" in 2014-2015 and get Conner McDavid.... then we will be contenders!...... Go Oil!!!" - scoot174
hehe...poor guy. We feel your pain. Let it out, let it out. Decades of squashing your team, we win all the cups (CGY would have likely won them if it weren't for EDM), and then you get some franchise players and only muster ONE championship. Go away Flame, we're arguing with competitive teams here. go count your points so far this year on your left hand.

Back to the old , "We have more Cups than you.... even tough we haven't won a Cup in 23 years"
It would be like Leaf fans saying we have 13 Cups to your 5! Even they aren't stupid enough to use that line.
Gaustad would be good for this team IMO, hes what 6'4'' and 220, that can win draws, provide leadership and some toughness. It would be a solid pick up at least for the short tearm.
Eventually the Oilers have to stop worrying about prospects and start winning. Draft is deep? Great. Does that mean the Oilers are guaranteed anything. No. Comparing Gagner and O'Reilly is apples and oranges. O'Reilly is a shut down guy that has the ability to score. Gagner is a scoring center that well to be blunt isn't very good defensivly. Is Logan Couture worth a first rounder? Yes? Try comparing Gagner and Couture, you'll see Gagner is right on par if not better. - Oilersforlife
I'm not a gagner hater (former London knight) and think he does have value and could fetch a mid to late first. But couture is way ahead of that. Couture already has two 30 goal seasons and career high of 65 points. I know gagner is off to a great start but so is couture. I would definitely not say gagner is on par or better.
Nelson was what, 30th overall. Two 2nd's worth a former late 1st? Maybe. But if I'm the Islanders I'm asking for plenty, because Nelson is a stud. He'd absolutely be a huge solution to the Oilers long-term needs at center. - Maxbone
Eberle was 22nd so maybe 2 2nds and a 3rd is what he's worth
Would something like Eller for Paajarvi work, in your opinion?
Eller: 13th overall in 2007
Paajarvi: 10th overall, 2009
When I watch Eller play I can see that he has lots of talent but he just hasn't managed to put it all together yet.
I'm wondering if something like this could work :dunno:.
Habs have Galchenyuk, Plekanec, Eller and Desharnais at center so we could afford to trade him away. We do have talent on the wings but it's aging (i.e. Cole, Gionta) so we could use someone to supplement Pacioretty and Gallagher. - Kotu
Why is that people think where theyre drafted makes a difference 5 years later!? EDM needs a centre so maybe lol

couture is worth way more than that... He's a big center and has proven him self already at the nhl level. Gagner has yet to get 50 points. Nevermind a 30 goal season.

i don't see how he has an attitude. to me he looks very grateful, willing to learn, and just plain excited to be in the NHL, i really don't understand where all this attitude talk about Yak comes from... i'm a big Yakupov fan, love his energy and personality

Total pushovers.
Not to mention the scores of the hockey games. Edmonton has been a great place for the Sedins to make a living.
