Would Leaf nation rather have Kipper or Luongo?

Luongo with Kipper's contract.

Is it true that Lu doesn't want to play for the Leafs or is that random sh*t being spun by disgruntled Canucks fans?

Some of the posters aren't liking you for having seasons tickets

For the record, my seats are....ahem...a little north of the platinum section.

I just find it laughable that we have Bozak as our #1 centre, and somehow it's the fans' fault we don't make the playoffs.

Here are the facts:

- Toronto sports fans have always been a conservative bunch. When the Jays were winning World Series, the US crews used to joke about how it was watching a golf tournament.

- The idea that the guys sitting in the platinums aren't hockey fans is stupid. Hockey is an upper-middle class sport in southern Ontario - those guys in suits are the guys who grew up playing hockey, and are still playing hockey.

- I make no apologies that I don't cheer wildly for an offside or an icing. Toronto fans are more sophisticated than Nashville or Philly or Tampa Bay fans.

- Ever been to a Leafs playoff game? They are plenty loud.

- Does it look bushleague that the platinum seats aren't filled at the star of periods? Yes, it certainly does. But have you ever been in the private lounges underneath the platinums? It's a pretty sweet suite (yah, I just did that). For a Tuesday night game against the Atlanta Thrashers, I'd rather finish my beer while eating my hot food than rush back to watch the Leafs cough up another goal to make it 4-1.

If anyone other than Lu or his agent tells you that he knows what Lu is thinking, he is a liar.

My guess is that he would like it here.

It's only a guess.

Sorry, but it is true.

Simple fact: higher percentage of Leafs spectators will have played hockey than Philly spectators.

You don't think 76ers fans are more sophisticated than Raptors fans?

that says it all right there...if that is the attitude of the fans you are playing in front of, why bother attempting to put forth a better effort?

Maybe because that's their job?

You do realize that Leafs fans are the most loyal, largest, longest suffering, most blindly loyal hockey fans on the planet, right?

believe me I do

I am not blaming the fans for the lack of success of the team, but the atmosphere at the ACC is abysmal, and the only things the fans can control is how loud and enthusiastic they are during the games.

He's referring to the people who buy the tickets.

- faceto27

He was far to general in his statement. Hockey has no class barriers. It's not about who "buys" tickets. Big companies/corporations buy the tickets and give them to their clients for the most part. For him to say that hockey games in Toronto is reserved for the upper middle class is bullpoop. Be basically saying "well we buy the tickets and all the real fans can kiss my ass". And to suggest that the people in the platinums are were and are hockey players is also ridiculous. Im sure a lot of them have played hockey, but not anymore than any of the other fans at the game. It's just the attitude i don't like.

I wish my boss would cheer me on more, not very inspiring when he would rather eat his lunch than give me a high five for finishing my work early.

I think there is a direct correlation between the fans 'enthusiasm' and the Leafs win/loss margin over the last 8 years.

He literally said none of that. For the most part, hockey has become a very expensive sport - depending which side of the boarder of income you sit on - and yes, many of those folks are hockey fans regardless of their economic status.

As far as Leafs fans being more sophisticated... that's questionable.
