I've always had this theory that when teams come to the ACC they play harder because its the biggest stage in hockey. I bet if there were REAL fans at their home games they would have a better record.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Why? Would those teams you theorized that try harder not try as hard with "real fans" in the stands?

If we're talking about Will Farrel then his best role by far is Ashley Schaeffer from Eastbound and Down......

Must've been small releases. Never heard of them.
- Feeling Glucky?

Small Releases and Star Wars doesn't belong together, Yes Episode 1-3 were worse then 4-6 howver at the time 4-6 were made they were movies ahead of there time.

People were expecting the same with 1-3 and it didn't happen so they were disappointing and then Lucas added an annoying character named Jar Jar Binks.

It will be interesting to see what J.J. Abarams does with Star Wars. He has alot of pressure on him now thats hes in charge of the 2 biggest nerd franchises when it comes to movies. Star Wars and Star Trek

It's not about the other teams... I think they are less intimidated by fans at the ACC. When the Leafs are playing in Ottawa or Buffalo its always a good game because real Leafs fans show up there. It's not so much about the other team, its more about the Leafs not being pumped to play at home.

I don't know what happened with 1-3, just found out about their existence. But I do know the original ones had a story line. And an easily identifiable main character.

Since they won last night, (albeit against what looks to be one of the worst teams in the league right now) I know RC is unlikely to change his lines. But I would like to see the following attempted for a portion of a game at the very least;

Frattin - Kadri - Kessel -> Bozak needs to be away from Kessel at this point
JVR - Grabo - Mac (on the fence with Mac vs Kulemin)
McClement - Bozak - Kulemin (would put Komarov here when Brown returns)
Orr-Steckel-Komarov

I don't dislike Bozak, but when he first joined the Leafs he had glimpses of creativity and good hands...but that did not pan out, and now other than face-offs and marginally good play back checking, he is doing nothing to help Phil or JVR out.

I think all the star wars talk might have something to do with it.

I agree with this... my only issue would be its hard to put JVR down to the second line when he's got 6 goals... you don't wanna change a good thing in that aspect.

Saying that, its also hard to split up the chemistry between Kadri and Frattin.

I've said it a million times though, bozak is not a 1st line ceter... not even close

I think the absence of Gardiner and Lupul have made the most noticeable impact thus far. The Leafs have made due without them, but there is a certain spark missing.

Lupul - based on his extroverted personality, his presence in front of the camera, on social media, and presumably in the locker room - clearly has a greater affect towards others on the team, not just Kessel.

Gardiner - based on last seasons performance - gave the blue line more energy and, by affiliation, subsequently inspired others to play better.

These two guys make a huge difference in and out of the locker room. There's no doubt about it. Outside of these to prominent players, there are a number of other key role players out that have hurt the Leafs chances.

I doubt that those lines will materialize. Unfortunately - until Lupul gets back - the line's we have seen over the past week will remain, by and large, intact.

JJ is just directing though. I think this new batch of movies will be decided by the writing. If there is a good story there than I think they will be good. JJ will just lens flare the crap out of these ones and I'm sure he will get the most out of what he is given to work with.
