are you suggesting that the Nucks will be golfing, and the players' favourite teams are Toronto and Edmonton?

Phaneuf is horrible.

What really bugs me though is that HE is our captain? WTF?

I always thought Dion was a solid #1-2...Where do you have him now, 3-4 or 5-6?

Good ol' Wilson and Burke logic...he who controls the music...must be the captain.

The 2013 NHL draft may not be that strong or deep after all. Scouts say their expectations were higher. See story: http://bit.ly/TGeSCy

every year there is one side saying its deep and another side saying its not

every single year

This shouldn't really surprise anyone.
I'm laughing at the people thinking they will draft in the top 2.

- Fakepartofme

I don't believe they are bad enough to fall that low. They are missing their 2nd best forward and their best D-man. and they are a .500 team, right around where they should be. Right around 9-12 place in the east.

You must have used a calculator for this little scientific formula of assumption.

Yes I used a calculator to assume Kessel will score some goals eventually

in fairness to dion, does anyone doubt he would play better on his normal side with more than an AHL journeyman as his partner?

I always like when people say it lacks depth in the 4th and 5th rounds...no (frank)ing poop?? Gee I hope there is a lot of depth in that 7th round where 2 NHLers come out of every blue moon

He is a solid #2. Dont listen to these guys. They just like to hear the sound of their own whine.

i love when people use the 2003 draft as an example of a deep draft

that wasnt a deep draft, that was an anomaly

“The 2013 draft won’t come close to 2003,” another scout said. “Let’s make that clear right now. Take away the first eight or 10 picks and you’re looking at guys who can contribute on the third and fourth lines, not the first line.”

It kind of hit me in the Carolina game when they were talking about Staal, and the effort he was putting in all over the ice. They said that its important for the captain to set the tone for the rest of the team, not unlike what Sundin did for us. The problem is, I really can't say the same about Phaneuf. He's been slow, unreactive, doesn't shoot, and I'd be surprised if I could count on one hand, the times he's skated at full stride this season. When your captain is part of the problem, this team has much bigger issues.

Def could be worse....a little more time with Randy's system and get Phil connecting and we're in

The more I watch, the more I am not so sure I want to trade Kessel unless there is an equal talent coming back.

Despite the scoring slump he is one guy who consistently seems to bust his ass out there. We all know about what his game lacks. The fact is though he is a pretty important piece for a contending team and he is still quite young. He could be good for the Leafs when/ifthey become contenders.

What I see a lot of this year is Kessel pretty much on his own on a rush. I don't se much help from his linemates most of the time.

The law of averages suggests that Dion and Phil will start to produce something, and this will undoubtedly help the team win, when it probably doesnt matter..or is "too little too late"

I can see this team finishing around .500, is that enough to get into the playoffs?

- senstroll

I always thought the goal in professional sports was to try and win, so now some fans watch and cheer "their" team to lose, that is just awesome, yeah pathetic.

28 games so far... 5 goals

Phil needs more talent to play with, teams just have to shut him down, he is getting chances yes..some unlucky ones, but a lot of hail mary shots also.

If we werent getting the secondary scoring from Frattin/JVR/Kadri it would be ugly
