I think it is a stat that really doesn't tell the whole story but all you need to do is watch the game to see he is back checking, that is undeniable.

With Phaneuf, no way, he changes the songs all the time. That's what makes him such a great leader.

I really can't complain with his game right now. He's doing everything he ought to be doing to have 4-5 goals by now. If he even had 2, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

If just two shots had been one inch lower/more to the left/more to the right, he'd have 2 G, 6 A, 8 P in 10 games and his PPG pace from last year would basically be on track and we'd all be thrilled he's back in form AND contributing defensively.

Isn't that absurd that such a small difference has such an effect on some people? Though, I'm sure I don't have to tell you. You see it every day.

It's the exact same circular arguments from him every night.

[insert player name] isn't good, he isn't consistent, [insert player name] on [insert team] is way better. If we didn't [insert trade], then we'd have [insert player name].

The reality is for this team to get better, it needs to get worse, which is why we need to trade [insert player name] for picks and prospects, and rebuild properly, through the draft.
