Apples to oranges. Does Seguin have a reputation for being inconsistent or invisible the same way van Riemsdyk does? Not even close. van Riemsdyk has three years on Seguin. What van Riemsdyk is attempting to accomplish has already been done by Seguin. Where was van Riemsdyk when he was 21? Playing his first games where Seguin was already an All-Star and leading his team in scoring. Not even close.
- Two_For_Truth

And that exact same scenario could apply to Seguin in Toronto. You don't know what could happen.

And Seguin hasn't even been around long enough to have a reputation. In his first year he had like 20 points and was invisible. The next year he was playing on the top line and had a good year. Now he's invisible.

The trend seems to be he's a superstar every other year with a Cup favourite team. That's real assuring for the Leafs.

Scrivens played well tonight.
Good to see both back ups playing decent hockey.

He makes the stops, but man his rebound control gives me the heepers jeepers. But he got the win, stopping 24 of 26 shots so good on him.

I think Peca is the center the Leafs need to get Kessel going.

What did you think of the game, UG?

Did you have some buddies over? Crack a few cold ones? Sure was good to see them playing well tonight.

What did you think of JVR? He's looked pretty solid so far. I think we won that trade. You?

Does, ahem, "getting romantic" with a Robbie Earl rookie card count?

A lot of past tense in your post.. I live in today's world.. One where Kessel isn't thriving. Some people can see how things will pan out, and others, yourself included..... cant.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Ah you should never forget the past......I believe it was 2011 when Kessel went 14 games without.....guess what.....he wasn't traded.
I believe he finished with 32 goals.
If kessel was scoring goals you'd be raving about how great he is.
Go be fickle somewhere else.

Well, if not, he could at least "teach" the other players stuff.

stay away from the dark side of the force ......

My bad, too bad we have a player that has done something that only 1.2% of the players in the league have done the last 4 years, score 30 or more goals. Such a shame.

Speaking of Cards, I have the 81-82, 82-83 OPC sets in good shape. Moving, selling some stuff locally, what are they worth these days?(I know not very much)

He's been all over Ovechkin in the two games against the Caps and I like how he handled Crosby. Most nights he hasn't been the issue.

He makes easy saves harder than they have to be but he can also make some pretty big saves when he has to. He just moves a little bit too much and it allows pucks to trickle through.

He's still one of the only guys on the roster that we can put out there for huge minutes against top lines. He's going to make mistakes; it's the nature of being in those situations.

But without him, we'd be exposed badly. It's tough enough to see Kostka with 25 minutes a night. I'd hate to divide up Dion's 25 amongst Fraser and Franson, as well.

+ 2 in his last 5 playing against top lines... struggled against the two NY teams
