That be a paddling for generalizing.
I'm playing both sides in this thread, maybe its all the marriage counciling appointments I've been going to, not enough people actually listen to what is being said, they see a slight difference in opinion and go off the handle, make assumptions and next thing you know Lou's threatening to ban us all.
Some people also have real issues letting things go. Do I care for example that UG was a Richard to me 2 years ago, or do I sit back and think maybe the bannings have had an effect on him.....Should I got out of my way to try and piss him off just to see if he's still a Richard? Wouldn't that just make me a Richard? (Sorry UG, you're just the easy to highlight as an example). Likewise, if someones being a Richard to you, laugh it off, don't try to be a Richard back.
On the flip side, unless it was a joke, calling a new poster to the conversation an idiot, is pretty stupid too. I mean if you're buddies, or you have a friendly thing going with them, sure do it. But no need otherwise. Also, it cracks me up to see posters disagree for 14 pages on what they think the other is posting only to find out the gap is miniscule.
Lastly, I prefer to save my hostile posts for the trolls.

by the way. I was reading over the earlier comments.
Elite (not great, not good) player should = Franchise player
Kessel is a VERY good goal scorer, but he is not elite.
I hold to the adage that Elite should be very very few.
Stamkos, Malkin..........Ovechkin
When Kessel has 30+ goals and Stamkos almost doubles him. Kessel in my books is not considered elite. VERY good, but not elite.
He is not an elite player. - Lee Denault
Careful, UG will argue you on that one.
He thinks Kessel is an elite goal scorer and I'm sure he'll fight to the death to defend that statement! He will not tolerate your slanders against such an illustrious player!
