Yes, every single low percentage shot he has ever taken is because he's on a 1-on-3.

Excellent.

I beg you to say one thing that you can be banned for.

I don't know what's sadder: that Staal is so open in front, or that the Leafs can't recover the puck in the corner with 80% of their players there.

Pay more attention to the games than Healy's stats.

Would it kill him to pass to van Riemsdyk, who also knows how to shoot?

Would it kill that line to cycle the puck?

- Two_For_Truth

It would kill the offensive threat.

Kessel brings the puck in off the rush.

Bozak and JVR are nowhere to be found.

But hey, if you say the guy who was the 6th highest scorer in the league last year is the problem, you are welcome to your opinion.

Me? I'm looking at the guy who was never good enough to be drafted, leads the team in giveaways, leads the team in missed putts under two feet, and is too scared to actually take the puck to the net, and prefers to defer shooting the puck to his buddy Phil.

But like I typed, that's just me.

Reimer should have covered him by himself. Just skate out to the slot and tie up his stick. Not like it's Grabovski's job to cover the center or anything.

Good point.

I am really wondering though if the problems have nothing to do with coaching or effort.

It might just be that these guys are not big enough and not skilled enough, top to bottom.

The line up that was out there last night is top 5 lottery pick team.

Continue to play Kotska 30 mins. and Fraser and Holzer as your bottom pairing defense, it becomes a top two lottery pick.

Continue to limit Kadri and Frattin to two mins. when it is a very close game, then you will be assured of having a 25% chance of winning the lottery.

As per the new CBA, the term "lottery" is no longer required.

It would kill the offensive threat to pass the puck to van Riemsdyk? Or to cycle the puck as a unit? Not every play is an offensive rush.

So you're going to avoid the argument on the basis that just because it came from Healy, that Kessel isn't really taking low percentage shots?

Great.

So you don't like Kessel taking shots from the outside, and your solution is to pass the puck to JVR, who likes to sit in the 6th row reds?

What's the other option for Kessel entering the zone with Bozak trailing 40 feet behind?

Get a cycle going 1-on-3? "Drive the net"? Please, share your wisdom with Phil Kessel. I'm sure he needs your advice on how to score goals in the NHL.

Cory Schneider's agent needs to shut up - at least until his client has better numbers.

Reimer's numbers are better than Schneider's on a better team. Even Canucks fans are shutting up a little bit about getting rid of Luongo... which never should have been a discussion for the Canucks in the first place.

Wonder if the Leafs can decline home games, it will also screw Bettman out of a revenue sharing cheque as well, it is a win win.

Perhaps if van Riemsdyk gets the puck, he could give it back to Kessel in what is known as a give and go play so that Kessel is not only closer to the net when he shoots but also has fewer defenders in his way when he does it.

If that isn't possible, get the puck deep, cycle the puck with Bozak and van Riemsdyk and create a shot from 10 feet out instead of 50.

But that's just basic hockey.
