I'm pretty sure the term "can opener" refers to the placement of the defending players stick between the legs of the other player and then twisting it to unbalance him/her.

So, while there was definitely a hook on the play, one which still allowed Hall to shoot and in my opinion, should have been a 2 min minor and not a penalty shot. And don't give me any BS about he shot it into the corner, because on the penalty shot he shot it right into Luongo's pad, so maybe his aim just isn't that good.

0 points and a -1 in 8 games without Ryan Suter? Who'da thunk?

I warned you Nashville... Could've gotten a King's ransom for him but chose a franchise crippling contract instead... How do these GMs keep their jobs? One of the reasons we have a lockout every decade is because none of these morons can run a business for sh!t.

On another topic... who would take the tiem to make a picture like this. It is so random. You right as well photoshop a head onto Gozilla and another onto a Japanese building.

Kind of salt in the wound for the team that just handed him a mint in the offseason.

Don't mean to toot my own horn, but I posted on this board many times in previous years that I thought Weber would be more negatively affected by the loss of Suter than the other way around.

Still early, though. I'm sure Weber will pick it up. He had a slow start last season, as well.

Sure, but applying heat again by making comments to the media to me is counter-productive. It's one thing if he calls up Gillis and says, "Look, my client is getting tired of the runaround, please trade Luongo quickly or else shop my client around so that my client can have a chance to establish himself as the true #1" rather than intimating it to the media. And seriously, if he's that upset that he's playing backup AT THIS TIME, while making starter money on a team that has a good chance if everyone is healthy and playing well by the time the playoffs come around to win the Cup, then he really isn't the answer anyways. I think I've said this before, Schneider never really had much of an off-season or a chance to prepare for it because he was part of the negotiating committee as the Canuck's player rep (along with Malhotra), and because of it, he might not quite be ready for the full grind of being the starter THIS year. It might be better for him to get a fewer starts here (maybe with him getting 55% or so) while he gets his mind/body back into playing hockey and then as the season progresses, give him 75% of the starts until he's at his peak and ready for the playoffs.

Come on...why does Gillis get a free pass on this situation? He leaves Cory no options but to use his agent. It's not Cory's best interest to forget the starter job this season because the ink has dried on his new contract making it void. Does Cory want to wait another year after his hometown discount? No (frank)ing way...he was promised to be moved for three years now... why wouldnt he have his agent put pressure on Gillis? You think behind the scenes promisses have worked out for Cory so far? He's still a backup. He's not supposed to be fighting it out for the #1 job. Damn right it's time to put some heat on management since they have mishandled this whole situation going on for years....

Between AV and Gillis, they are going to end up with two goalies that want out.... and after Gillis' excuses why he had to leave a massive hole down the middle because Cody behind the scenes wanted to play elsewhere... why the (frank) is Luongo who went public with the desire still here? ... this is (frank)ing stupid.

Man people are over reacting. Luongo is hot they are riding him. Cory will play one of the next 2, if he plays lights out he will stay there.
Let me ask you. When Lu got hurt last yr and Cory played amazing. Then Luongo returns to a seat on the bench while they rode out Schnieders hot streak. The situations are very close to the same. Where you mad because Lu got a bad deal?

I just don't get it...cory should get the number 1 by default if he is not playing as well as Lu? But Lu should sit for cory?
